Edit 09 2026: Le Roman Bleu is our favorite restaurant when we come to Noirmoutier on summer vacation. The cuisine is refined and delicious, the staff is attentive, and the prices are reasonable. 27/09/2026: We had lunch on Saturday and then stayed overnight at Maison Moizeau, including breakfast. It was a magical experience. The service, the food, and the warm welcome were all exceptional. We were full of discoveries about their local products. We left with stars in our eyes.

21/09/2026: La Marine has changed its setting, but not its horizon. Completely redesigned last year, the restaurant retains its almost visceral connection to Noirmoutier, a connection that permeates Alexandre Couillon's cuisine. Upon arrival, you ring the bell to enter, as if you were arriving at someone's home. Behind the door, Céline Couillon welcomes you warmly, and even before sitting down to eat, a short video immerses you in the island's landscapes and terroir. The journey begins before the first course. After a quick glance at the bustling open kitchen, you'll find a few tables in a cozy and perfectly optimized space. A true haven where it's a pleasure to settle in. A few amuse-bouches set the tone, including the iconic Erika oyster, spectacular in its black shell. What follows is a journey between land and sea, with Noirmoutier as the guiding thread, in a harmonious balance of vegetal and briny flavors. Bluefin tuna from our coast, confit egg yolk, and fish stock sets the stage for a stroll through the garden. The vegetable patch from the kitchen garden, roasted over embers with garden herbs and wild fennel butter, gives vegetables a place of their own rather than a mere accompaniment. Then we return to the sea with mackerel, beetroot, and flat-leaf parsley whey. The highlight of the meal for us. A remarkably straightforward dish, precise and perfectly balanced, full of nuances, with a bouquet of herbs and plants that reminds us that there's no need for artifice when the quality of the ingredients and the chef's skill speak for themselves. The pollack, pattypan squash, almond milk, and fig continue the journey in a more delicate vein. Throughout the meal, the cuisine remains deeply connected to the region it represents. Always good, sometimes excellent, the cuisine seems less concerned with demonstration than with capturing the essence of an island, what is cultivated, harvested, and fished there. And then come the remarkable desserts. Sea lettuce with "witch's whip" sorbet and buckwheat, followed by fig leaf and cucumber in syrup, prolong the pleasure with a light touch. These are unique, fresh compositions where the vegetable and the marine continue to intertwine without the transition to sweetness disrupting the narrative. In the glass, the 2021 Le Poiré from Domaine Saint-Nicolas by Thierry Michon allows us to remain in the Vendée region with a particularly expressive Chenin Blanc that naturally complements this island setting. The service, while cheerful and discreet, can sometimes seem a little slow or slightly disorganized for a restaurant of this caliber. But it's difficult to find fault with it. In this cozy setting where everything invites you to linger, we weren't in any hurry anyway. More than just a succession of dishes, La Marine offers an immersion. An immersion into an island, its produce, but also into the world of Céline and Alexandre Couillon. A deeply personal experience that leaves you with the feeling of having, for the duration of a meal, explored a small piece of Noirmoutier.

25/09/2026: Great experience, we probably exaggerated with ordering several starters, main course and dessert, but was impossible to choose, so we wanted to taste as much as possible. The quality of the food is amazing, the portions are perfect and the price is very reasonable. We let the waiter to advise for a bottle of wine and was a perfect choice . Staff is working in harmony and you can see that they love what they are doing. We will definitely be back and hopefully will be able to reserve a place at their 3 star ⭐️ restaurant. Highly recommended.

23/09/2026: Right next to the 11th-century castle, you'll find this highly recommended restaurant. Whether on the small terrace or in the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant, some offering views of the castle, you'll be spoiled for choice when deciding which of the varied set menus or à la carte dishes to select. We opted for a three-course menu: a fresh and creamy mackerel rillette as a starter, grilled sardines with island potatoes or a tender and succulent fish fillet as main courses, and a creamy crème brûlée or a melt-in-the-mouth chocolate mousse served in a dark chocolate dish. We were absolutely delighted. The service was friendly and the prices reasonable. It's a shame this restaurant is so far from where we live.

As for the chef's cuisine, we thoroughly enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the dessert. We had a truly magnificent experience. We would definitely go back; this place is a real treat.

18/09/2026: A very pleasant discovery with good quality dishes (although they could have used a little more salt). The service was excellent, with a smiling woman (who was managing the dining room single-handedly). The prices were reasonable (€27 for a starter/main course, €31 for a starter/main course/dessert) and it offered good value for money. There are very few seats, so it's best to book in advance by phone. We were able to bring our dog without any problems. Special mention goes to the chocolate fondant, which was incredibly moist, and the perfectly cooked gratin dauphinois.

20/09/2026: Excellent! We arrived around 6 pm for a drink. We were taken care of as soon as we arrived; the staff was absolutely lovely! The lady with the dark hair who took our orders was simply amazing! In terms of price and atmosphere, it's a 10/10! I highly recommend it! :)
