First time at Le CAVEAU,
And it wasn't disappointing at all.
A truly troglodyte atmosphere, and the service and welcome were pleasant and of high quality.
As for the meal, come hungry and with your taste buds whetted; it's excellent and very generous.
And the dessert... I'm a pastry chef, and the Crème d'Anjou is absolutely divine; you absolutely must try it.

Le Caveau, a restaurant in Doué-la-Fontaine. A beautiful and unique place, the troglodyte restaurant has a very calm atmosphere. The dishes include fouaces (a type of flatbread) with galipettes (a type of flatbread) and fouaces with different fillings, and the dessert, Crémet d'Anjou, is a cloud of lightness—simply delicious. A wonderful discovery of local dishes and its wine cellar.

Coming from Lot-et-Garonne, I came to this restaurant with friends from Doué. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is just as warm as the setting. The waitress is lovely and the owners are very friendly. The young man who makes the fouées (a type of flatbread) in the wood-fired oven is always smiling!
The concept is brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed the galipette (a savory pastry), and the dessert was simply divine (Anjou cream and exotic coulis served in a pretty heart). €27 all included! You can't get a better deal than that! 😊 Well done and thank you!

A superb experience on a Sunday lunchtime for a family birthday reunion – a unique and original menu with excellent value for money and the option to choose a different dessert for an additional €2 – a very warm welcome from the entire team – an incredible cave-like atmosphere – suitable for families, meals with friends, and children
