Le Cellier Volnaysien sur Volnay

Divine cuisine: the poached egg in red wine sauce and the chicken in red wine sauce were delicious. The interior is magnificent, with its wine barrels and small lamps, and the vaulted cellar. The staff were very friendly. No need to go on and on: everything was simply perfect, we highly recommend it.

A truly special place where you instantly feel at home! Every visit to Le Cellier Volnaysien is a moment of pure bliss. The moment you step through the door of this winemaker's house, you're enveloped in an authentic and incredibly warm atmosphere. Sitting on the terrace on a sunny day, surrounded by the vines, has that irresistible quality that I never tire of. On the plate, the full generosity of Burgundy shines through. I'm delighted every time: the eggs meurette are simply divine, and the slow-cooked dishes have that truly comforting, homemade taste. As for the wine list, it offers wonderful discoveries to perfectly complement the meal. But what truly sets it apart is the staff's kindness. The welcome is attentive, friendly, and genuine, without ever being overbearing. You feel like you're being treated like a friend. Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the area!

If you want to discover Burgundy's specialties, Le Cellier Volnaysien is the perfect place. We tasted the coq au vin and the fondue bourguignonne and we were won over!

Incredible atmosphere food was very good. The service was a little bit slow but nothing that would damage the good experience we had.

While cycling the Tour de Bourgogne route, we stopped by chance at Le Cellier Volnaysien for lunch on the beautiful shaded terrace with our three children. The food was delicious, and the children were treated to a proper little menu with a starter, main course (a real one, not just nuggets and fries!), and dessert. The interior is incredible, with a completely different atmosphere; it's like stepping into the winemaker's cellar. The decor, the lighting—everything is beautiful.

It was good… for that alone it deserves 5 stars. The fondue bourguignonne was superb, the wine recommendations were excellent, we'll definitely be back.
