While cycling the Tour de Bourgogne route, we stopped by chance at Le Cellier Volnaysien for lunch on the beautiful shaded terrace with our three children.
The food was delicious, and the children were treated to a proper little menu with a starter, main course (a real one, not just nuggets and fries!), and dessert.
The interior is incredible, with a completely different atmosphere; it's like stepping into the winemaker's cellar. The decor, the lighting—everything is beautiful.

It was good… for that alone it deserves 5 stars. The fondue bourguignonne was superb, the wine recommendations were excellent, we'll definitely be back.

We love this place and come here every time we are in the area. The food is made from scratch, delicious ingredients and amazing wines. The wine room and restaurant in the basement are just as great an experience as their beautiful farm garden🫶

I've been a bit disappointed since the takeover by the former owner's daughter. The quality of the food isn't what it used to be. I've been a regular for 30 years, but I think I'll try something else.

Le Cellier Volnaysien is located in a historic building in the heart of Volnay, in a beautifully designed vaulted cellar. The kitchen offers a fine selection of well-prepared traditional Burgundian dishes. The wine selection is superb. The service is very friendly and attentive. We will gladly return!

A superb experience at this restaurant, which is definitely worth a visit. Beyond the initial impression of the vaulted cellar setting, everything that followed was perfect! The welcome and service were impeccable, the dishes were exquisitely prepared, not to mention the excellent value for money! Absolutely not to be missed!

A must-try in Volnay! High-quality Burgundian cuisine, generous portions, local river fish, coq au vin… 👌🏻, a great wine list with options for every budget. The staff are welcoming and friendly. A lovely terrace for sunny days, and plenty of space inside without feeling crowded. A truly wonderful place 👏🏻. The surrounding area is also very pretty.
Keep it up! We'll be back.
