I've traveled a lot in my life. I've seen all sorts of things, both good and bad! I've walked on many soils, from Châteauroux to Vierzon, from South Africa to the mountains of Nepal; I've experienced many landscapes and encountered many peoples. Well, of all these experiences, never—and I mean never—have I had such wonderful moments as in this café-bistro-tobacco shop. And all this, of course, thanks to the staff! Not only do they move with a grace worthy of Swan Lake, but their intelligence would make even the greatest disciples of Socrates green with envy, and their kindness would make Sister Emmanuelle look like a torturer. Once settled in a comfortable chair on the terrace, facing a square so magnificent it deserves to be among the Seven Wonders of the World, you might have the pleasure of listening to Alain-Didier. Its verve will tickle your ears: it is, quite simply, beautiful.

Mac Ewan's Cafe

15/03/2026: Great atmosphere, especially thanks to Peter and his smile – that's what makes a good waiter! He knows how to make us feel comfortable and always gives good advice.
13/03/2026: We discovered Mc Ewan's Café in the late afternoon on our way back to the hotel after visiting Orléans. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the music, so we went back the next day. The café is well located in the city center, on Rue de Bourgogne. For a bit of history, this is one of the oldest streets in Orléans (the old Gallo-Roman road) and is now entirely pedestrianized. It's also the city's famous "Street of Thirst," known for its record concentration of bars and restaurants. The establishment has a large terrace on the pedestrian street, but we sat inside. The bar is superb with its beer taps and large stools. The pub is spacious, and the menu boasts a very wide selection, with a real focus on beer, both on tap and bottled. We noticed that the bar really comes alive on Friday evenings. Despite the crowds, the service remains fast, efficient and friendly, with the small bowl of chips to nibble on, always welcome.
