Le Champagney sur Besancon

It's hard to know where to begin because the entire 99 eur tasting menu was simply exquisite. Even the butter for the bread had a divine type of local tapenade with it that was delicious. The five courses were supplemented by various mises en bouche and pre desserts, making this a genuine culinary experience. Ingredients are top quality and the skill and theatricality in the preparation and serving were second to none. Very affable maitre D who is highly skilled in his profession and above all, warm and welcoming to everyone. Wine list is local to Grand East of France and substantial. If we had to choose a best course, it was the lobster ravioli, but the trout mousse and pigeon Wellington were magnificent. Kirsch soaked sour cherry millefeuille was simply perfection. I very much doubt anyone would be disappointed here.

Where to start? To call my 35-year-old sister “grandma” during meals, because she has a few gray hairs. Unsuitable service (we had pretty butter knives... Without having any to spread them with). Ask for bread (not offered...) and the waiter fails to serve the children's drinks (usually the priority ones). Bad jokes from the server... Catastrophic. Otherwise, in terms of dishes, it's very pretty, well presented but it lacks delicacies and flavors. The meat was excellent with the sauce. Truly a signature dish! Dessert to be reviewed because no flavors. Very disappointed. The Lyon connoisseur that I am found it VERY expensive for what we got. A star price elsewhere... PS: 4 hours for a 5 course, it was... Long!

This must be our most memorable dining experience. We travel excessively and do not often comment on a restaurant. La Table de Cyrille is an exception. The atmosphere, food, and wine were excellent. Cozy room with only five tables. The service rivaled the starred restaurants we have dined at before. You need to experience this restaurant.

During the weekend in Besançon we discovered this restaurant. What can I say... except that everything was perfect, both the welcome and the generous plates. Good value for money. Well done !
