We came on August 10th for our wedding anniversary, so I introduced it to my husband as he hadn't been before, and we weren't disappointed. Everything was delicious, from the aperitif to the dessert, nothing to complain about. The service was also excellent; the waitress was very friendly and there wasn't too long a wait between courses—perfect!

The menus and prices online are completely wrong; there's no €19.50 set menu and no mussels marinière. Drinks and food are expensive. A glass of wine is €7, a kir €8, few dishes are under €25, and desserts are €10. The bill adds up very quickly, even if you're careful. There's a long wait for your food. The meal is good, but very basic. The tables are bistro-style with disposable placemats. No tablecloths, just paper napkins. It used to be just as good, but at more affordable prices.

I loved the meal, and so did my friends. The staff is pleasant, smiling, and friendly. I'll gladly come back. A tip: book in advance! 😉

A bit long, but frankly nice, welcoming, with traditional, tasty and well-served Northern cuisine, and an unobstructed view of the pretty Scheldt canal.

06/06/2026: Excellent! A great place to have a good time. We practically had the restaurant to ourselves for the evening (it's normally closed), but Ludo opens for groups (minimum 10 people)... A huge thank you to Sonia, 51-star service..... both of them have such big hearts.

Au Petit Bon Secours

25/08/2026: The food was good overall. It quickly became apparent that the staff wasn't quite on the same page. That said, we had a good meal even though our main course arrived before our aperitifs.
24/08/2026: The second time we were in Condé sur Escaut, we ate here for the second time as well. Le Petit Bonsecours is a small Basque restaurant with delicious dishes on the menu. The owner does everything himself and is therefore both cook and waiter. As a result, it can take a little longer for the meals to arrive at the table. But it is well worth the wait. And on top of that, it is dirt cheap. Not a single dish costs more than 20 euros, and for 21 euros you can even get a full three-course menu! Highly recommended!
