Le chaperon rouge sur Tours

A galette restaurant not far from the center of Tours. The galettes are gluten-free (made with buckwheat flour), and you can also order a crêpe with galette dough for dessert. It's a small, quiet place with good service. I was there in 2023 and really enjoyed it, so I returned in 2026. This time it was incredibly hot, and it was great that they had air conditioning, as other places in Tours didn't, and there it was a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius!

Not bad, but not exceptional either.

Good value for money. Only one downside: the person who took our payment (the one who cooks? In any case, not the one who served us) wasn't very friendly. Of course, I told her we were giving up on coffee, that we'd waited 20 minutes without it arriving, even though the restaurant was far from crowded. There was only one person in the dining room, and one in the kitchen/dining area, apparently, but I imagine that's enough for about fifteen customers. Sorry we didn't wait any longer, but we have better things to do than wait for coffee, and no "excuse us" either from this person who, to top it off, frowned because my card didn't work the first time (I took it out too soon, it's my fault, but not a big deal). I'm therefore a bit disappointed by this attitude; it doesn't make me want to return to this restaurant, even though the galettes are quite good. The service was slow, but the waitress was practically alone for about fifteen diners.

Very warm welcome, affordable price, quiet environment

A feast for the eyes, spotless. The foie gras galette was excellent. We highly recommend this excellent crêperie!
