Le Cheval Blanc sur Montmorency

The friendliest spot in the square

After a steep climb of about 100 meters to reach the heart of Montmorency from Soisy/Enghien, my favorite thing to do is settle down on the terrace of the "Cheval Blanc" for a well-deserved refreshment, just enough time to soak up the atmosphere before strolling around. From the terrace, there's a full view of the Place Roger Levanneur and its lively atmosphere, whether it's market day (Wednesday/Sunday) or not. And what has always surprised me is learning that the establishment used to settle the bills of impoverished intellectuals and artists in the 19th century by using one of their works.

Great food and great team! The dishes are very good and flavorful. We always have a great time.

A legend? That must be from the past...

A good establishment with a decent welcome, but the service can sometimes be too slow depending on how busy it is. The neighborhood is nice, but again, depending on the day and time, parking can be difficult.
