What more can I say, except that this is one of the best, if not the best, restaurants where I've enjoyed a delicious meal, a great atmosphere, and exceptionally friendly service.
I recommend it 100% (especially the Cordon Bleu with Munster cheese).

A larger restaurant at the beginning of the pedestrian zone in Ribeauvillé. It has a relatively large beer garden, which fills up quickly. The food and drinks are perfectly fine. The service is quick, but sometimes seems a bit disorganized. All in all, recommended! There's a parking lot opposite the restaurant, where you can usually find a space.

Au Cheval Noir offers a menu with a wide selection and a broad price range, from tarte flambée starting at €10 to traditional Alsatian dishes, including two set menus at €27 and €29.
The children's menu is also very good, with a choice of beef steak or escalope in cream sauce, served with fries or spätzle, followed by ice cream for dessert. A small drawing is even provided to keep the little ones entertained during their meal.
The staff is friendly, the service is quite prompt, and the food is delicious. A place that will easily suit the whole family!

A pleasant surprise! The staff were very friendly (coloring activities for the children). The food was delicious and plentiful, great value for money! The meals were served quickly, but not in a rushed manner.
I recommend it.

We ate lunch outside. We chose this restaurant because it had more interesting dishes on the menu than the usual suspects. First, we had spring rolls with cabbage, served with a super delicious, fluffy horseradish cream. The tarte flambée was also a bit different, with fresh pesto, which was also very tasty. Then there were pork cheeks in red wine sauce, which were also extremely delicious. The chocolate mousse was also superb. All in all, it was the best restaurant we had during our Alsace vacation.

The 3-course meal for €27 was an absolutely fantastic choice! The food was incredibly delicious and the portions were generous. Despite the large crowd, the service was friendly and attentive. Excellent value for money – we would definitely come back! 👌
