Room a little older, but good.
Sheet was dirty - this MUST be noticed by the cleaning staff.
Restaurant expensive and too special for my taste. Brasserie is a better alternative for me: best burger I've eaten in a long time.

My opinion is about the restaurant, not the hotel.
The service in the brasserie room is very pleasant.
The famous pig’s trotters are an absolute delight.

Working this week in the sector I stopped for 2 nights at the Red Horse!
I slept in the old building. Nice room, very clean: just one frustration: the bubbles in the bathtub did not work.
As for meals, everything is good! Hake pork trotter risotto is a surprising but very successful combination!
The service team is attentive and very pleasant. Reception, cleaning, service; everyone was very pleasant. A special thank you to the little blonde lady that I saw at the 3 services who brightens up the rooms with her kindness and her smile.

Une première pour nous.malgré certains commentaires négatifs,nous avions hésité…et bin très très surpris.nous recommandons ++++.très bon accueil.très bon service.plats au top .rien à redire

Great hotel restaurant.
Clean room, and comfortable bed, a little dated especially the bathroom.
Hearty breakfast, the meal at the brasserie very good.

Establishment discovered by chance, following reading an article in the local press.
3 of us went there, after a visit to the Moulin de Valmy.
We ate in the restaurant section (there is also a brasserie section).
Welcoming and smiling staff. Excellent meal, with a lovely presentation of the dishes.
Two small downsides: we arrived at 12:05 p.m. and left at 3:10 p.m. 🫤 and the terrace is only accessible to brasserie customers.
Living less than 80 km (Reims), we will return there soon to test the brasserie and, with a little luck in terms of weather, the terrace

Selon la légende, Louis XVI se serait arrêté à Varennes pour manger des pieds de porc.
Fort heureusement j'ai pour ma part toujours ma tête pour vous dire que le pied de porc est très riche en goûts et en textures, cuisiné et servi sans chichis pour un prix modique. Accompagné de l'original "entremets verdunois" c'est l'essence de la cuisine populaire à la française qui y est ici représentée !
Le personnel est très agréable et souriant...ça donne envie d'y revenir !
