Le Chien jaune sur Tours

Booked a table to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately our waiter was miserable from beginning to end but we had a great time. The atmosphere was great with many office workers enjoying their lunch. Will definitely go back once I am in Tours again.

I've been there twice already: a real neighborhood restaurant with good homemade products (and a preference for the bone marrow). The welcome is always warm.

We had lunch at this restaurant last Sunday during our visit to Tours. There were nine of us, and the waiter found us a table in the garden. He was very friendly. The meal was excellent. The setting was beautiful. The service was impeccable. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

Beautiful place in Tours. Stylish place, lovely atmosphere. Top service, lovely food and wine. We shared a starter, a delicious cocotte. We drank local cremante de Loire with it, perfect. My beautiful wife chose sole menuuiere as a main course while I went for Canette. Together with local white wine (Vouvray) and red wine (Chinon) it was perfect. Recommended!

We had a delicious meal, truly French, and the service was very friendly.

Waiter was very disinterested, disorganized, kept mixing orders and then added extra items to the bill. Food was decent but there are many other places nearby.

Excellent brasserie. Tender and generous flank steak, tasty fries. Very refreshing chocolate mousse for dessert. Simple and efficient service. Not very busy this midweek evening.

We had been wanting to try Le Chien Jaune for a while, and we were absolutely not disappointed. To begin with, the decor, reminiscent of a 1930s Parisian bistro with its period furniture, is truly unique. Numerous objects are scattered throughout the dining room, adding a great deal of charm and a real sense of identity. We were seated at the back, near the kitchen, and despite the distance, we found the area near the entrance quite noisy. The mirrors and the layout of the room meant the sound echoed quite a bit. As for the menu, it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. A special mention goes to the chocolate mousse, which was truly excellent. I don't think I've ever had such a good mousse in a restaurant before… and I've certainly tried many! The service was also impeccable: quick, discreet, and with very clear explanations of the dishes. We will definitely be back.

They say the essence of French cuisine lies in the sauce, and this sauce was truly exceptional. The rich and creamy pepper sauce on the steak was so delicious! 🤤 I dipped the bread in it, cleaning every last drop and savoring every last bit. 💙 The caramel sauce generously poured over the chocolate terrine was also perfect, with its perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness—a truly blissful moment! Finding such a wonderful restaurant in a rural travel destination makes for an unforgettable memory. 😍😍
