Le Chien jaune sur Tours

Excellent brasserie. Tender and generous flank steak, tasty fries. Very refreshing chocolate mousse for dessert. Simple and efficient service. Not very busy this midweek evening.

We had been wanting to try Le Chien Jaune for a while, and we were absolutely not disappointed. To begin with, the decor, reminiscent of a 1930s Parisian bistro with its period furniture, is truly unique. Numerous objects are scattered throughout the dining room, adding a great deal of charm and a real sense of identity. We were seated at the back, near the kitchen, and despite the distance, we found the area near the entrance quite noisy. The mirrors and the layout of the room meant the sound echoed quite a bit. As for the menu, it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. A special mention goes to the chocolate mousse, which was truly excellent. I don't think I've ever had such a good mousse in a restaurant before… and I've certainly tried many! The service was also impeccable: quick, discreet, and with very clear explanations of the dishes. We will definitely be back.

They say the essence of French cuisine lies in the sauce, and this sauce was truly exceptional. The rich and creamy pepper sauce on the steak was so delicious! 🤤 I dipped the bread in it, cleaning every last drop and savoring every last bit. 💙 The caramel sauce generously poured over the chocolate terrine was also perfect, with its perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness—a truly blissful moment! Finding such a wonderful restaurant in a rural travel destination makes for an unforgettable memory. 😍😍

I stopped by after touring the castles near Tours. I had the pork and beef with nuts, and both were delicious. Personally, I preferred the pork.

We had a wonderful time last night at Le Chien Jaune. The service was friendly and efficient. The wine list was excellent, the food delicious – I highly recommend it!

Short menu but quality dishes in a period setting

A lovely evening for two. Generous and delicious portions, and a lively atmosphere enlivened by a pianist. The interactions with the servers were pleasant. The only downside: the price of the bottle of wine was rather high.

A warm and welcoming place with good food. Two drawbacks: the plates were cold, which is a shame because the food gets cold quickly. The service was a bit slow.
