We were ready at this point in our 3-week trip on have dinner in the hotel rather than go elsewhere. This was a happy choice. A quick look at options outside the hotel seemed slim as it was Monday when most restos are closed, and this hotel was probably the best in this little country town, outside the Alsace region. Consistent with the appearance of the lobby, the restaurant was also elegant and stylishly tasteful. Being known as a gastronomic resto, the presentations of the courses were unusual. There were amuse bouche of strawberries and cream. We chose the formula dinner of 3-courses for a reasonable 38E per. I had the rabbit, and my wife had the cod with ravioli. Both were excellently prepared and satisfying. Kudos to the waitstaff. It's a comforting feeling to just walking to your hotel room by pushing the elevator button after dinner.

Excellente découverte pour un endroit qui paraît select mais finalement très simple et très correct. Menu business à moins de 25 euros, plats, dessert et café.... imbattable. Top qualité et top service.

05/09/2024: We're not going to choke on the portions or the speed of the service... You can tell the people are nice, the waitress is trying her best, but the service is incredibly slow. (Due to the kitchen?) - "Beefsteak tomato" appetizer: I ended up with a tomato soup that didn't even fill four tablespoons. How am I supposed to believe it was beefsteak tomato? Not to mention the presentation. - Steak tartare main course: Well prepared, but the side dish, a sort of potato dumpling, was woefully inadequate. I ended up eating more than half the dish without any accompaniments. - Bread: Reheated or defrosted. After 15 minutes in the bread basket, it was hard once it had cooled down. Cooking is good, but serving the right portions is better.
29/08/2024: Superb restaurant. A simple menu and not too diverse but only local products. Careful presentation, impeccable service. From starter to dessert, nothing to complain about. We took advantage of the terrace. The tartare was particularly well prepared. In terms of desserts, the homemade ice cream was delicious. The choice of wines, although limited, is interesting and the prices are reasonable. By talking with the owner we learned that some rooms will soon be available. An address to share without hesitation. We will come back.
