The food was good, and the waitress was lovely and very professional. However, when you don't have many customers, try to be discreet when talking amongst yourselves because you could hear everything... a shame.

A very good place for traditional Alsatian food. The portions are generous and delicious, and the price is reasonable. It's advisable to book in advance as it's small and fills up quickly.

Sitting down for a drink in Place Kléber, the four of us started looking for a place to eat. Not being from the area, we really wanted to eat authentic Alsatian dishes, the real deal! We stumbled upon this restaurant, which you could say was "running on the old block," but we were there! We had found our quintessential spot. The staff's accents, the decor, and, of course, the food: Baeckeoffe, Widele, Bibeleskis, Fleischkiechles, and the classic sauerkraut, of course! Everything was delicious, including the dessert we shared, which I highly recommend: Kougelhopf with Kirsch.

Courteous and knowledgeable service, ready to offer the best possible advice. The manager is very friendly and the food is delicious, with a good and comprehensive wine list.

What a lovely little place. We made a visit on recommendation from the hotel. Lots of shared tables, which didn't bother us one bit, but some may prefer a table on their own. Food was delicious and plentiful. Definitely recommend if you like wholesome hearty food xx

27/05/2026: The local food was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good. It was a bit pricey, but considering it's a tourist area, that's acceptable.
20/05/2026: After comparing reviews and prices of restaurants serving traditional Alsatian dishes in Strasbourg, we chose "Au Vieux Strasbourg" and we were delighted. The food was delicious, the waiters and waitresses very friendly, and the setting is charming. I recommend making a reservation as it's very popular.

17/04/2026: Great place for lunch! I had a starter and a fish main course, which were delicious, and I couldn't resist the chocolate mousse with peanut cream for dessert – what a treat! Thank you, Laurent and Bruno, I had a wonderful time at your place.
