Le Coq Hardi sur Lille

Le Coq Hardi is a place with potential. The welcome is pleasant, but what truly sets it apart is its staff. A huge thank you to the entire team, with a special mention for Émile, who was exceptional in his kindness, professionalism, and attentiveness to customers. However, the culinary experience didn't entirely convince us. Some dishes lacked flavor, and overall, it didn't quite meet our expectations. Despite this, we had a good time thanks to the quality of the service. We will gladly return, hoping to discover cuisine that lives up to this wonderful staff.

Could be better. The place is very warm and friendly. The service is adequate. The wait for your order and for service is normal. The food is good.

A mid-afternoon visit for a simple drink (coffee + syrup) cost €6.90: a price point that seems more aligned with the location and ambiance than with the nature of the order. On the other hand, the restaurant's offerings are consistent with the traditional estaminet style: well-prepared regional cuisine, generous portions, and a respect for culinary identity. This makes it a relevant spot for a local experience. The lack of vegetarian or vegan options limits the restaurant's accessibility for certain types of customers—a feature increasingly expected today, even in traditional establishments. As for the overall experience, the atmosphere is warm and typical, but can quickly become noisy during peak hours. Finally, regarding accessibility: The dining area is wheelchair accessible, but the restrooms are not (on two levels), which is a significant limitation in terms of inclusivity. A solid address for regional cuisine and atmosphere, but with questionable pricing on simple drinks and clear areas for improvement in terms of accessibility and diversification of offerings.

The drinks and food service were excellent. The staff were welcoming and had a great sense of humor. The food was well-presented and beautifully plated. We ate on the terrace for a bachelorette party and everything was perfect. Thank you to them. (JB and Juliette)
