Perfect location on the main square without being a tourist trap. Good local specialties at reasonable prices and a wonderful welcome from Max, who thoughtfully chose a table for me with a beautiful view, even though it was the furthest from the service area and I was dining alone. The entire staff greeted me with a smile, reflecting the warmth of Lille. I had already been there once while traveling, and I'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Ended up here on the terrace on a very beautiful day today. Sat for 3 hours, had 2 drinks (with difficulty getting them) and a platter later, we wanted to eat. But that didn't happen. Asked several times. Yes, they said they would set the table. Half an hour later, still no set table. Fortunately, the atmosphere on the terrace was good, so with nice company around you, you do enjoy yourself ☺️

A Welsh rarebit for €17.80... Outrageous! The egg was overcooked... practically hard in the middle, with no mustard or aged Lille cheese! A slice of bread with half a slice of ham. They're taking the customer for a ride! Go somewhere else for a better meal!

28/06/2026: Red Beef is generally a high-quality restaurant. The meals are good, the meats are cooked perfectly, and the cuisine is on par with any standard brasserie. The portions and side dishes are generous, with a reasonable menu selection. My only slight disappointment was the tiramisu, which was a bit too dry for my taste. The service was adequate. The waitress was empathetic, smiling, and professional. The ordering process was smooth at first but slowed down when it came to dessert. We waited about fifteen minutes for the tables to be cleared and for our dessert order to arrive, and another fifteen minutes for the coffees we had previously ordered, which we received after reminding them. These short waits are easily forgivable given the large number of customers when we were having dessert. I would recommend this restaurant to families without hesitation, as it has a terrace and an upstairs dining room, ideal for those seeking a more secluded spot.

Oh Gourmand'in

15/02/2026: This unassuming little bistro is a real gem in this central neighborhood. The welcome is very friendly, almost familial. The food is excellent, with generous portions for a reasonable price. They also have a good selection of beers. It's a popular spot with regulars, so reservations are recommended.
29/01/2026: My husband and I often come to this bar. It's a bar with a neighborhood bar atmosphere right in the center of Lille. The food is good. We always receive a warm welcome.
