We were very satisfied with the food. Although our French is rather poor, all the staff went to great lengths to communicate with us and were very friendly.
Our dog was also welcome.

Food was good and portions came in proper sizes. Only one of the dishes (Coquillages à la Normandie) was a bit too cold and there could have been more flavour. At first service was very friendly and fast but paying was very slow. We asked to pay and then it took 20 minutes to bring the bill. Still, after the bill we were not given the chance to pay but onyl after I asked the waiter asked me to do it at the cashier’s. It was OK to pay at the cashier but he should then tell us so without having to ask after we had waited another 10 minutes.

My partner and I came for a weekend getaway, and of all the restaurants we considered, Le Détroit was the most welcoming. The staff were warm and friendly, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the service impeccable.
We ordered a generous charcuterie board, were served a large portion of delicious mussels (with fries), and a superb Welsh rarebit. For dessert, we had a very indulgent "café gourmand" and a perfect crème brûlée. 🤗
We'll be back!

We went to this restaurant for lunch on July 13th.
A very nice restaurant, beautifully decorated. We had salmon fillet and Welsh rarebit, which was very good, but we had a long wait.
The negative point was the service; there was a lack of friendliness. We asked for two glasses of wine while waiting for our food, and the waitress offered us the wine list, but never brought it with her. It was the waiter, when he served our food, who told us which wines were available by the glass.
We didn't order coffee or dessert because of the wait.

The food was acceptable, acceptable because I personally found it very good, but my friend found three large pieces of plastic in her pot of mussels. She pointed it out to the waitress, who didn't seem concerned and told us she'd speak to the cook. No response or apology. Then... My other friend ordered a coffee, and after 20 minutes we got up because there was still no coffee! This time, the waitress apologized, saying she hadn't heard, but she still hadn't brought the bill. We are still waiting for an apology and/or some kind of compensation.

We ate mussels there. A large portion, honest cooking, no frills, the broth was delicious. Good value for money.
