It is with regret and sadness that we discovered the closure of your restaurant because during our walks on the seafront in Calais, we enjoyed eating in your restaurant. Our menu preferred: Moules marinières, Grilled sea bream or Sole meunière, Strawberry puff pastry a few years ago. Happy retirement to you both and good luck to Jean-Luc in finding a new job. The couple who always ate side by side!

Tourists passing through Calais, we were unceremoniously turned away by a neighboring maritime brasserie because we had not reserved. So we ended up by chance at the restaurant “Le Dtrait”. This is a very nice discovery. We enjoyed a very generous and very fresh seafood platter. A real treat, and very, very good value for money. The restaurant team is very friendly and attentive. The very professional server. The service is fast. The chef offered us a vegetable soup, very good. The table is perfect: cloth tablecloths and napkins. In the end, we had a great time. We highly recommend “Le Dtrait”.

We discovered this restaurant by chance a few years ago. Since then, we have dreamed of going back. It's done !!! We were always delighted with the welcome, the advice of the waiter and the freshness of the products. We enjoyed the “basic” seafood platter. The freshness, quantity and price made us enjoy this meal threefold. We can only advise, during a stroll in Calais, to pay a “visit” to the strait!! You will not be disappointed.

An independent, family-run restaurant overlooking the harbour through a panoramic window. Not in the least bit touristy and all the better for that. Each ingredient, even the simplest, is well-prepared. Service is informal. Good wines on a simple list. Pleasantly surprised. Good turbot - a difficult fish to hook.

Cleanliness also at the appointment.. In short, an excellent address in Calais.. Well done to the whole team Best wishes for 2020
