Le Duperre sur La Rochelle

The place might lead you to believe it's just another soulless café/brasserie on the port of La Rochelle, but think again! At Les Brocanteurs, they don't do flashy things; it's simple and effective, with a special mention for the fries, the beef, and the burgers. The staff is very professional and friendly, even during busy periods. A great place to eat simple but quality food at a fair price.

September 2024 Passing through La Rochelle, this is a must-visit for fish and chips and a delicious French toast-style brioche. But that's not all...come and visit! April 2024 The welcome was spontaneous, warm, and top-notch. The fish and chips were a delight with their chive cream and delicious homemade fries. We had French toast-style brioche for dessert...pure bliss for a gourmand. This restaurant is a favorite for us. I'll be back... Visited in September, despite the heat, a friendly welcome, much respect to the staff. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips... I'll be back... March 2023 I wanted to eat some good meat, so we chose this brasserie. The welcome was friendly, the place very pleasant, and the meat was perfect, as were the homemade fries. We finished with a delicious gourmet coffee (French toast-style brioche, chocolate fondant, red berry panna cotta, and coconut macaroons). Excellent value for money.

A very good place. The burger was definitely one of the best I've ever had—totally top-tier for me. The fries were also good, though not my favorite. A big plus for the generous portions, especially for a place like this. The salad with vinegar dressing also pleasantly surprised me—even though I'm not usually a fan of vinegar, it really worked well here. The fish & chips were also very good. It's a shame there were more fries than fish, but that's probably the style of this dish. The fish itself was first-rate—I really have nothing to complain about. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but you have to consider that it's a large, touristy town in France. Overall, I definitely recommend it! Rating: 4.(3) / 5

An unforgettable tapas aperitif with a breathtaking view of the towers! The mixed platter was extremely generous, varied, and delicious. The wine served was perfect, and the service impeccable. A must-visit for combining gourmet food with a panoramic view. I'll definitely be back!

BANGER. We stumbled upon this place while waiting for our train, and it was a wonderful discovery. The wait was very reasonable, and the menu offered enough options to suit all tastes. The burger was delicious, and the homemade fries were excellent too. We'll be back!

We had a fantastic meal! The waiter was incredibly attentive to us and our 2-year-old son... We were provided with a booster seat and there was even a changing table (which is quite rare and worth mentioning!).
