Unfortunately, the Backoeffe were basically just fried potatoes and goulash – nothing special, but not bad either. The Fleischnakas were just like German Maultaschen, but drier, and the dough itself wasn't fresh and was hard. There were three large pieces in total, sitting in a rather uninspiring vegetable broth. Traditional ambiance, but overpriced.

It’s a traditional Alsatic restaurant. The food and wine were very good.The staff was very kind and friendly. Highly recommend if you visit Colmar.

A very good establishment with delicious and generous portions. A fantastic waiter on the first floor, full of helpful advice and very pleasant. We were able to chat with him at the end of our meal, which was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We had flambes and spätzle with bacon. Flambes were not crispy at all, it was softened and one of the worst ones we have tried in the region. Spätzle was fine, nothing wow but fine. The portion was really satisfying and it came with a salad. Also we waited like 20 minutes to order, but orders came fast. It was a mid experience overall, the place is cute though

A very nice discovery on the way home, unfortunately afterwards we had to wait 9 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink (unbelievable, in Switzerland they ask directly, it sells an aperitif!). The meal was excellent, but then we'd barely finished eating when we were told to order dessert – 20 minutes for the main course and dessert. That's when I wanted to pay the waitress more (we were upstairs). After 15 minutes I went to see where she was, and there she was, calmly sitting in a small room upstairs with her cell phone. The setting is nice, the food too, but the service from this one person was disastrous. Anyway, tourists will find it great.

Great spot right in the heart of Colmar's historic center! 😊 We had a wonderful time at Le Fer Rouge: the atmosphere is warm and inviting with beautiful traditional Alsatian decor, and the regional cuisine is generous and delicious 🍽️ — sauerkraut, baeckeoffe, tarte flambée, and other house specialties were a real treat. 😊 Petit Futé +1 The service is generally friendly and efficient, and the place is well-suited for meals with family or friends. 🌟 I particularly enjoyed the typical dishes, which were well-prepared and hearty, as well as the charm of this historic building. 😊 Tip: In high season or during market days, it's best to arrive early as there can be a wait without a reservation. 😊

Le Caveau Saint Pierre

05/03/2026: Discovered by chance, an address to keep and share. Generous portions, elegant presentation, warm welcome.
02/03/2026: I love discovering new places, those spots where you can have a great time. The Caveau Saint Pierre is a perfect example. Located on the riverbank, in a traditional Alsatian setting, you're greeted politely and kindly. The cuisine is Alsatian, and we ate a typical local dish that our mothers used to make for us—though not nearly as good—40 years ago (I'll let you do the math on that): vol-au-vent with Alsatian pasta. It was delicious, a rare and precious trip down memory lane. Frankly, while there's an explosion of those cheap, impersonal restaurants trying to convince you that you're going to eat the food of our childhood, come to Alsace and you'll see how refined and flavorful it is. With that, I opted for the amazing Grinch cocktail! And what a surprise the crème brûlée was, made right before your eyes. In short, my sweetheart, with her lovely green eyes, and I adored our meal in this tavern so much that I'm keeping my review serious. It's good, it's effective, everything we love!

L'Essence du Thé

13/10/2025: Super sweet shop with lovely owner and staff. Favorite was Le Toit du Monde (?). It was very reasonably priced and you get plenty of we ordered a few and shared to try. Recommend on a chilly day for sure!
16/09/2025: It’s like a treasure land of teas! So many different types of tea with high qualities and characters not only from Asia, but also local herbs. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly, who will definitely help you out. It’s really a good recommendation for someone who wants to have a relaxing short break in Colmar.
