Le Gargantua sur Aizenay

A set Valentine's Day menu. The staff were truly lovely, and for that reason, I'll return to try the rest of the menu. I do have some criticisms that I believe are constructive: the amuse-bouche was diced tomatoes (out of season) in a plastic cup, which was very disappointing for a €29 menu. The main course (duck) had a truly disastrous presentation (wrapped in filo pastry), making it look like a large sausage. A shame, because it was tasty. What really prevented me from enjoying this meal was the dining room. I felt like I was eating in a waiting room or an empty office, and I wanted to leave before even sitting down. They really need to invest in some decor! Plants, picture frames, shelves... (For €100-200, you can completely transform the atmosphere!) Dining out is a complete experience, and the decor is important too. Thank you for reading. I'll come back sometime ☺️

Excellent service and perfectly cooked thin-crust pizza with generous toppings. I highly recommend it. "La Pause Customer" 👍
