Le Genepi sur Huez

A beautiful restaurant. Six of us had the three course meal and every dish was delicious.

We were there for a business dinner with clients and everything was perfect, both in terms of the quality of the food and the service.

During our visit, we opted for the tasting menu and we weren't disappointed. Looking for new flavors, we discovered five dishes with very interesting tastes that I won't soon forget. The waitress was very welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend dining at Génépi during your stay in Alpe d'Huez.

A wonderful restaurant! The welcome is warm, the staff are friendly, and the service is impeccable. The appetizers, main courses, and desserts are truly delicious. I will definitely be back!

A 3-course menu with an exquisite blend of flavors and excellent value for money!

We came last year and were delighted. Unfortunately, this year's experience was quite different. The starters were excellent: the smoked haddock was very good, the egg was perfectly cooked, and the pâté en croûte was quite successful. However, we were extremely disappointed with the lamb in the main course. It was as tough as a bone. Five of us out of seven ordered it, and everyone agreed. It was a real struggle between the knife, our teeth, and that infamous, poorly chosen piece of meat. It wasn't a problem with the cooking at all, but with the cut we chose. We mentioned it to the waitress, who said she would pass the information along. We heard nothing. When it came time to pay the bill, we mentioned it again, this time to a different waitress. She explained that they source their meat from the same supplier who delivers to the Élysée Palace… and that, regarding the lamb, the quality of the cuts isn't consistent… so in that case, as my daughter pointed out, “they should stop serving lamb altogether! And replace it with another meat!” There was no gesture of goodwill, not even a small one, which would have been appropriate. My father left a good chunk on his plate because it was truly inedible. The prawn dish was good, nicely seasoned. What a shame. It left a bitter taste in our mouths… The desserts, however, were good.
