The food was reasonably decent, but given the price and the hidden menu, it was a huge disappointment. Nothing original or sophisticated. Bland flavors and ordinary cuisine.

A successful first experience. The place is pleasant, the welcome warm, and the service well-paced between courses. The recipes are well-executed with interesting flavor combinations. The cuisine is fairly traditional, but the prices are on par with fine dining 😕

The setting is exceptional, however the food is of average quality. When we ate there, for example, the beef tataki had been refrigerated after being grilled, so it was served cold; the asparagus wasn't very flavorful; the artichoke purée wasn't blended or creamy enough; the rösti wasn't grilled enough; and the cream in the tiramisu for dessert wasn't set properly. It's a shame because in such a magnificent setting, one expects a higher standard of cuisine.

04/03/2026: We found this quiet gem late during our time in Montreal, but we made up for lost time as best we could. Here is a place where the neighborhood gathers to savor simple yet deceptively complex and perfectly portioned meals (vegetables!), reasonably priced, that one wants and should eat daily. Like the proverbial apple, a lunch a day at le Dauphin keeps the doctor away – but also puts a smile on the face and lightens the heart. Bon appetit!

13/06/2026: Excellent restaurant, exemplary. Everything is very reasonably priced and fair, everything is homemade and delicious, the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. The staff is very pleasant, as is the setting. €50 for two people including a main course, dessert, and drinks. Top-notch.
14/05/2026: Friendly welcome, very fast service, but if you're very hungry, look elsewhere; the portion size is more like an appetizer than a main course. High price for a dish of this size.
