Le Grand Balcon sur Mazamet

A must-visit in Mazamet! Le Grand Balcon is simply a wonderful discovery. The welcome is impeccable: a warm, smiling, and genuinely kind team, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's flawless. The dishes are flavorful, beautifully presented, and prepared with great care. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the effort behind each plate. Perfect for both a special occasion and a simple moment of pleasure, especially with prices that remain very reasonable for the level of quality offered. A truly wonderful experience that I wholeheartedly recommend—I'll be back very soon!

Super restaurant, a revival that brings a breath of fresh air to the city of Mazamet, as well as a beautiful culinary experience.

This is our second visit. We weren't disappointed. The welcome, service, and food were all delicious. Don't let the bad reviews discourage you; everyone has to start somewhere. You're taking over an iconic Mazamet establishment; we wish you all the best in this new venture.

We wanted to try this establishment after the change of ownership… and unfortunately, our experience was rather mixed. Upon arrival, we waited between 15 and 20 minutes before being served, without even a bit of bread on the table, only coarse salt. When we asked for butter or olive oil, we were told it wasn't possible during peak service, as the kitchen was overwhelmed. As for the dishes, the ribeye steak, advertised as 200g, was mostly fat (about half), and the waiter's response was rather inappropriate: he simply told us we should have chosen something else if we didn't want fat… The seared tuna, meanwhile, had an unusual taste, which prevented us from eating it. On the other hand, a positive point: the goat cheese salad was very generous and really good. We hope these points can be improved, as this may simply be a starting point that needs adjusting following the change of ownership.

So I'll start by saying things: it's great, we've finally got our big balcony back as it should be! The food is top-notch, you can tell right away, especially the beef bourguignon which was so good I still remember it 😂 Anyway, if you haven't tried it yet, I recommend it 99%.

A more varied menu, well-prepared dishes with a beautiful finish... the strawberry macaron dessert makes you want to have seconds. I recommend it.
