My favorite café in Lyon for the atmosphere and tradition. I have already been more than 10 times since I arrived in Lyon. On the other hand, the service needs to improve, already we don't want to go there for a coffee to have fun and be treated badly. I have already been treated badly at least 3 times, the waiters have already asked me to change places, I could not choose the table where I would like to sit, since the whole restaurant was empty and things like this always happen . The service lacks to match the atmosphere. The Gastronomy and Cocktails are generally good, but if the atmosphere is full the quality of things drops a lot.

We booked for 8, including 2 children aged 3 and 5, my reservation is confirmed, on our arrival the “butler” tells us that he does not have our reservation, I show it to him, despite this his behavior is odious, he found us a table of 8 people (a favor) in two seconds, it was ours… of course. My conclusion, if children are not welcome at the “grand café des négociants” let it be said, I would also like to point out that we spent more than 60 euros per person… On the other hand, our server was very friendly. Our children have always accompanied us, we have very often had lunch or dinner in Michelin-starred restaurants, and our children are always very well received, you are an institution in Lyon, that is a great shame.

I love this place. You feel good there, a superb and very warm decor. Their hot chocolate is KILLING! Only one downside: Their bread is very bad, of very low quality, burnt and hard. Frankly, an effort needs to be made on this point.

23/03/2024: Great place with more than professional waiters, on the other hand the coffee goes from 1.70 to 2.50 from 3 p.m., why?, I already find that 1.70 for an espresso is excessive.
22/03/2024: Love this place especially the outdoor seating in-front of “Le Grand Hostel Dieu” and “Grand Hotel Dieu” The staff is professional and friendly. The food is good . Best place to hang out in Lyon .

14/03/2024: We (4) took as much as we wanted The products are quite good but BIG BIG problem with the variety and especially the non-existent quantity of meat (four of us stayed all evening and received 1 skewer each on the conveyor belt??); This is very regrettable because these are dishes that are clearly in high demand by other customers as well and drastically under-represented in what we received this evening. Avoid if you want beef and cheese or chicken ;)
13/03/2024: My best friend and I have been going to this restaurant for well over 5 years now. The quality of the sushi and the friendliness of the staff have been there for many years. The small conveyor belt is very user-friendly and you see the sushi master cooking in front of you. We still enjoy the experience, and rest assured, we will come back to see you again. THANKS !
