The onion soup and soft-boiled egg were very good.
The butcher's cut cooked over a wood fire, the camembert cooked with new potatoes, and the crémet d'Anjou and chocolate fondant were excellent.

Overall, we had a very pleasant time at this establishment. The food was high quality, the dishes were tasty and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was also very enjoyable, contributing to a convivial experience. The service was adequate.
However, one aspect significantly marred our experience: having to leave before 9 pm before we had finished our meal. This situation is regrettable and does not reflect what one expects from a dining experience.
So, overall, it was a positive experience, but this detail remains a significant negative point to consider.

Passing through Angers for work, I hadn't been back here for 15 years. What a pleasant surprise, it's still perfect! A very warm welcome, the restaurant is as unique as ever, especially the back room with its old stone walls. A good French single malt to start, a crispy soft-boiled egg, a divine butternut squash soup, and the butcher's cut (rump steak) grilled over a wood fire, cooked to a perfect rare, it was like butter! Accompanied by new potatoes and a warm, spicy vegetable pickle, it was amazing.
All this accompanied by two glasses (white and red) of Menetou-Salon, my favorite Loire wine. In short, everything was perfect, I might come back Wednesday evening with friends.

Without knowing where we were going, we found ourselves in this superb restaurant! Welcomed like royalty on the terrace with blankets and complimentary appetizers, we then enjoyed generous and delicious, very refined dishes. The service provided by Simon (or rather, François Damiens) was impeccable!
Finally, the value for money was more than satisfactory! A must-visit if you're ever in Angers.
