The place is particularly beautiful and historic. The welcome was very warm and the cuisine very authentic. You can tell that everything is homemade. They paid special attention to my parents' 58th wedding anniversary. We were offered a glass of champagne, a very much appreciated gesture. Thank you very much.

A beautiful setting, a very professional and respectful team. Regarding the quality of the meal, nothing to complain about; we had the 1.2 kg rib steak and it was truly excellent. Thank you.

A truly wonderful discovery and, above all, an excellent evening at Le Grill des Barbares. The place is simply magnificent. Steeped in history, it possesses an irresistible charm, with its superb vaulted ceilings that lend it an atmosphere that is at once elegant, warm, and intimate. You immediately feel at ease, and the setting fully contributes to the enjoyment of the evening. The cuisine lives up to the setting: high-quality ingredients, with a special mention for the absolutely delicious foie gras terrine and a remarkably tender flank steak. The service also deserves to be highlighted: discreet, attentive, and perfectly balanced. Our server was always there when needed, always with a smile, without ever being intrusive. A true sense of service, the kind we wish we encountered more often. Finally, a special mention for the owner, as warm as he was welcoming, who took the time to tell us the history of the place. What could have been just a very good dinner transformed into a truly special moment of sharing and exchange, marked by simplicity and warmth. We came to discover a restaurant and a place steeped in history; we left with the memory of a wonderful evening. An address I wholeheartedly recommend and where I will gladly return.

Increasingly expensive. Decent meat for 32 euros. A tiny, very average tarte tatin for 9.5 euros. Very disappointed, despite the otherwise beautiful setting and attentive waiters.

We had a fantastic time! The food was delicious, especially the meat, which was absolutely excellent. The place is lovely, and above all, the whole team is so friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. It's such a pleasure to be treated so well! We'll definitely be back; I highly recommend this place! 😊

A must-visit. When you step through the door, you enter a small room with armchairs and a library. Go down the stairs that lead to the restaurant entrance. You'll receive a warm welcome and be shown to your table. The place is magical; the vaulted ceilings above transport you to another era. The menu is beautiful, and the food is delicious. The staff takes excellent care of you. So yes, the price is high, but it reflects the quality of the food: generous and delicious dishes from appetizer to dessert. Honestly, I highly recommend it. Reservations are recommended.

As usual, we found the dishes to be generous and excellent. However, I don't understand why my choice of vegetables to accompany my scallops was refused. Having undergone stomach surgery, I can't eat what I want, so I asked for mashed potatoes (which were among the suggested side dishes), and I was told it wasn't possible with this dish. So I was given zucchini, which I couldn't eat...what a shame.

20/09/2026: You are traveling back from a region with all kinds of culinary delights, the Périgord. On your return journey from this extremely beautiful beating heart of France (where wealth and its preservation—as evidenced by the many castles and estates—can still be found in cultural-historical form in many ways), you plan a stopover north of Paris. That way, you will have already gotten that traffic misery out of the way. Then, via AI, you find a wonderful bed & breakfast called “l’Atelier des Magnolias” in Aumont-en-Halatte, run with complete dedication by Nathalie, who is kind enough to reserve a table upon request from a wide list of her culinary recommendations, chosen from those restaurant tips. Then you arrive in a neighboring town, Senlis, at a restaurant with about 20 seats in—as we understand it—a historic former crêperie called “Le Julianon.” Named after the children of the couple who run the restaurant with love and dedication. Love brought the Southern French chef to this area. Fortunately, he has brought his wealth of extensive experience with top chefs with him. And that combination of experience, love, creativity, craftsmanship, a feel for the freshest ingredients, and complete dedication is served to you in an unprecedented way through a daily changing menu. To the residents of Senlis, it seems completely normal by now, judging by the surrounding tables. But for a passerby returning from a culinary paradise, this convergence of the aforementioned qualities—presented on your plate in a more than tasteful manner through the various courses—is an extraordinary experience. In fact, it is in a league of its own, you will conclude after extensively tasting (and above all, enjoying!) it. Accompanied by very flavorful, carefully selected wines from a clear and concise wine list. It is highly recommended to visit this top artist and undergo the same culinary experience. Take your time, don't rush, and above all: enjoy! In complete peace. And be sure to combine it with an overnight stay at l’Atelier des Magnolias in Aumont-en-Halatte. You’ll feel like you’re in paradise.
