The place is super interesting, and the service is excellent. I don't speak French, and the two girls who served me tried their best to help. The bread was a little dry. It would be nice if they offered something to spread on top of what's already on the board. Otherwise, excellent! *I hope I can pay by card*

Not far from the cathedral, on a small street. This restaurant doesn't look like much, but once inside you're enveloped by a delicious aroma. Without a reservation for lunch, we got a table without any trouble. The waiter quickly took our order and our food arrived in under 10 minutes. It was very good; I recommend it.

It's okay. Nothing more than that. The staff is great: the service is quick, friendly, and attentive. The restaurant is extremely elaborately decorated, almost a bit too much of a good thing. But that's a matter of taste and actually unimportant. We were there with a large group, and yet everything went surprisingly quickly. Some of our tablemates had tarte flambée, which was apparently very good. I had the "chicken" with sauce, mushrooms, "vegetables," and spaetzle, if I understood the menu correctly. My tablemate had the same dish and received grilled vegetables on the side, which I had been looking forward to (his food arrived much earlier than ours, even though we had arrived considerably earlier). My chicken leg (I had actually expected chicken breast, but oh well) was garnished with red cabbage instead. The baked (!) spaetzle were quite dry and had little to do with the consistency that spaetzle should have. Another tablemate ordered veal and, surprise, received exactly the same side dishes. Apparently, the side dishes are identical for many of the meals? All in all, the food was okay, but by no means outstanding. The bread that was served before our meal was later cleared away and collected in a container right in front of us. I wouldn't be surprised if it was simply reused, for example, as an ingredient in onion soup or as toast. We had exactly that kind of toast with our smoked salmon appetizer. The restroom was a real ordeal, or rather, an acrobatic challenge: it's extremely small. You have to fold your legs sideways around the toilet to even be able to close the door. The woman in front of me apparently had trouble with this and was standing there with her bare bottom exposed when I came in. I quickly closed the door again and waited until she was finished. A guest restroom really shouldn't be an acrobatic feat, especially when you have an unintentional audience. In conclusion: So-so. The food is acceptable, but nothing more. The restroom is a nightmare, but the staff is excellent. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the food.

Just steps from the cathedral, on a charming little cobblestone street, you'll find Le Gruber restaurant. It offers a wide selection of typical Alsatian dishes. The staff will be happy to serve you and recommend the best Alsatian specialties. Despite the restaurant's small size, the service is very quick. The decor is very welcoming. A must-visit in Strasbourg.
