It's a shame about the 45-minute wait despite having a reservation... We won't be returning to this place, even though the welcome was friendly... Apparently, the kitchen isn't up to par...

While passing through Arreau, we discovered this restaurant quite by chance on a street corner! What a pleasant surprise! Highly recommended!

Incredible! A restaurant that can combine burgers and pizzas with good traditional dishes. It still exists, especially at the price of the daily menu... A victim of its own success, their small dining room fills up quickly and the wait can be a bit long. Long live this great place!

A fantastic restaurant! 👌 The waitresses are lovely, with a touch of humor that we adored! And our children loved them too! The food is delicious and homemade! We had the €23 set menu; there was plenty of choice, and the kids ordered a hamburger served with homemade fries and a beef patty that was nothing like the ones you get at fast food places. 😁 A must-try!

If you drive through France on the first Saturday of August, you know one thing for sure: Black Saturday shows no mercy. Apparently, that applies not only to the Route du Soleil, but also to the logistics at Le Gypaète! When we arrived at 8:00 PM, the situation was so hectic that it seemed as if part of Arreau had decided not to drive in traffic, but simply to pull up a chair at this restaurant. At 8:09 PM, an extremely friendly waitress came to our table. Her English was about as good as the average traffic flow on the highway, but with a bit of gesturing and pointing, we got pretty far. We were allowed to order the drinks! The food? Non, non, non. After some creative deciphering of her French, we understood the kitchen's strategy: the chefs refused to get overstimulated and simply didn't want to receive too many orders at once. A very healthy principle for your mental well-being, of course, but a little less so for our stomachs. So, we were forced to wait ‘in line’ for over 10 minutes before we were even allowed to say what we wanted to eat. Our order wasn't exactly a culinary masterpiece requiring three Michelin stars: two hamburgers. And the kitchen kept its word: they really took their time. After 40 minutes of patient waiting (during which I would probably have finished a whole three-course dinner and the dishes at home), the burgers arrived. The honest verdict? Fine! Just a fine burger. Not one you'd stand in line for three hours for, but absolutely nothing wrong with it. Conclusion: Friendly people, the food tastes fine, but the logistics on peak days still have some... room for improvement. A few extra hands on the floor (and a timer in the kitchen) would work wonders on days like these! But by all means, go there.
