The loop around the lake itself is very easy and takes about an hour.
We did the loop around the lake and Puy de Montchal (1407m): about 3 hours. You can bring a picnic (there was still a little snow on March 7th). Beautiful panoramic views.
Very convenient for an hour-long walk around the lake. At this time of year, there were a few icy patches, but nothing too difficult; the light was magnificent.
It's a place of incredible beauty. The walk is gentle and contemplative. Be careful of falls in winter; small streams run along the path, creating some very icy patches.
