Le Lucullus sur Montmorillon

We had been customers of Lucullus for several years, and it was therefore with all the more disappointment that we noticed a marked decline in quality, both in the food and the service. The waitress was rather unfriendly, even quite curt at times. Our aperitif remained on the table throughout the meal, and the bottle of wine was simply placed on the table without even being poured. These may seem like minor details, but taken together, they truly give the impression that the quality of the welcome and service is no longer up to par. We are sincerely disappointed, as we had always appreciated this establishment and had been loyal patrons for years. We hope that this is just a temporary setback and that Lucullus will soon return to the level that had made us want to come back all these years.

Delighted to have discovered the tasting menu at Lucullus! The cuisine was undeniably generous... While all the dishes were delicious, my favorite was the perfectly cooked sweetbreads. A huge thank you to the chef and the restaurant team for this wonderful experience. See you very soon!

Very friendly atmosphere - Excellent value for money - Delicious food and beautiful presentation -

A delightful surprise on our holiday road trip. We were quickly seated even though we hadn't booked. The menu featured local produce with Japanese influences, including lobster rillettes and a perfectly balanced surf and turf confit of pork belly. The Poitou lamb trio—roasted rib, shoulder rillettes, and leg tartare—was outstanding. The cuisine was generous, and, as in the finest restaurants, we appreciated the boldly flavored entremets followed by the handcrafted petits fours after dessert. The complete menu was €52, excellent value for money. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Six friends around the table, August 14, 2026. A welcoming atmosphere greeted us as soon as we entered the restaurant. We had booked a month ago, and we felt…expected, which was very pleasant. The service was impeccable; we felt free throughout the meal, free to move as we pleased, without ever being overly watched. We lingered to look at and admire our plates before eagerly devouring their contents. Everything was beautifully presented, and the verdict was unanimous: we were in heaven, and we were definitely at Lucullus. A flawless meal; all six of us were won over. We had to leave eventually, so we decided to finish the evening at home, with a Ti' Punch. It seemed to me that we should have all the ingredients to make it, except for the lime…we dared to ask the Chef, who agreed. A special shout-out to Alban Galpin, he'll know who he is: even down to the Ti' Punch at home, this evening was magnificent. Well done to the whole Lucullus team. CL
