Le Matefaim sur Ceillac

The welcome was rather mixed, presumably because of the dog who barked a bit during service, even though we had booked the day before and mentioned we were bringing a pet… We ate a Savoyard fondue on the terrace. No complaints about the fondue itself; it was good, and that's what we came for. However, we waited quite a while after our main course and before our dessert order. We got the impression they were ignoring us, so we got the dessert menu from another table to save everyone time. This seemed to displease them. We ordered ice cream with an extra €1.50 for chocolate sauce; we were hoping for a real hot chocolate sauce and not some kind of "Vahiné" style coulis… the same issue with my daughter's profiteroles… in short, we were a bit disappointed with this experience.

A really great restaurant where you feel right at home; the staff is welcoming and friendly! The pizzas are good, and the Mat Burger I tried was excellent! So, here's my recommendation if you go!

A great place to eat in Ceillac! We had a wonderful time at Matefaim. The dishes are generous, delicious, and very reasonably priced. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and attentive, which makes the meal even more enjoyable. The interior decor is typically mountain style. Outside, the Cristillan stream flows. For your convenience, there are a few parking spaces available right in front of the restaurant, and a larger parking lot is about 30 meters away. I highly recommend this place if you're ever in Ceillac!

Mixed feelings. The welcome was a bit cold, but the service was good. The specialty (the matefaim) was excellent, but I strongly advise against the pizzas (very sparsely topped and with a dry, flammekueche-style crust). Nevertheless, they gave good advice for exploring the Queyras region.

A delightful restaurant in Ceillac, perfect for rewarding yourself after a good hike – the shepherd's delight and the génépi liqueur are must-tries if you're in the area! The service is pleasant, and the waiters and waitresses are very kind and smiling. The only downside was the dessert menu; I was surprised to see an "African" ice cream (coconut, dark chocolate) and a "Métisse" crêpe (chestnut cream). It's 2026; it's time to reconsider these racist names. It's a shame to see this.

We recommend Mate Fin for its warm atmosphere and good food, featuring many local dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed the qeyrasflette. The prices are very reasonable.
