Le Matisse sur Le Touquet-Paris-Plage

Good restaurant, though there was a bit of a wait. We were served at different times after our starters and main courses were mixed up. The staff is very pleasant. Very good bread. However, one of the toilets was closed simply because of a broken door handle, which is a shame when it's busy. Top

Three mussels and fries and a full Welsh rarebit with fries. The fries were homemade. We really enjoyed the dishes. The quality and quantity were excellent, offering great value for money, especially in Le Touquet. Children weren't left out either, with a generous €13 menu featuring a butcher-style minced steak, not a thin, fast-food-style steak. We were properly informed that the children's dessert waffles were frozen. We ordered them knowing this, and they turned out to be very good, especially the Nutella waffle, which was very generously topped. The service was friendly, pleasant, and extremely efficient. We highly recommend it! The only downside was the slightly noisy interior (it was a busy day).

The mussels were overcooked, the Maroilles cheese was practically nonexistent, and many dishes arrived cold at our table. However, the burger was good and well-cooked, as were the salmon steaks. The waitress, on the other hand, was smiling and very friendly. Truly professional. It took over 30 minutes to have our plates cleared before we could order coffees and after-dinner drinks. There are only two restrooms, and only one is usable, not to mention the sticky floor.

Lunch for 9 people It was hard to find a table, but they prepared one for us after a 15-minute wait. I was happy to be able to eat raw meat tartare. The pork ribs were also very tender. A lot of French fries were served. The staff were all smiling and very nice. Thank you for the meal. The bill for 9 people was approximately 40,000 yen. Most of the customers were French or from Europe.

So, a great evening with impeccable service, a waitress with enthusiasm who did her job pleasantly, but there's a catch: at the end of the meal, a digestif, the Marie Brisard! The glass arrived, and disappointment awaited: the Marie Brisard wasn't frosted with ice. The waitress said, "We looked it up, we didn't know..." No big deal, I went to the bar and asked to check, and there a head waitress or manager told me, "No, no, that's it!" and didn't believe me, clearly thinking I was an idiot! Anyway, I went back to my table, and that's when she started making fun of me... even saying things like, "They're old" or something. I left the room to smoke outside out of respect for the name, I didn't say anything, and yes, Madam was swaying her hips while looking at me! That's my experience! You young lady lacked manners and respect for your customer, but especially for your colleagues and the Matisse that employs you! You must have thought that without proper attire, we were just tourists, and even then, I'd say respect isn't part of your upbringing! You focused on the image, not the clothing! Tonight, I felt a profound lack of respect for a table of five with a hefty bill! In short, young lady, learn some respect...

Despite the quality and speed of the service, we left with mixed feelings about this meal. The mussels with Maroilles cheese tasted almost exactly like the ones with cream, and the dessert… the chocolate cream was very hard and mealy; it might have been chocolate cement. I wouldn't really recommend it; there are better options in Le Touquet.

We had a wonderful time at Brasserie Le Matisse: quick service, excellent food, friendly staff, and affordable prices. The beef cheek Bordelaise was superb!

Second time at this restaurant during our vacation. The mussels and fries were very good, the service was quick, and the staff were super attentive to the customer. The waiter who served me was impeccable. I highly recommend it. Thank you to the team!
