Le Medieval sur Charroux

Passing through, we stopped for lunch at the inn and ordered the set menu. The welcome was warm and friendly. We congratulate and thank the chef once again for his delicious homemade lasagna. The floating islands were excellent. We highly recommend it. We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you for a lovely time! 👍👍👍

I ordered the ham hocks, which were served very quickly—too quickly, unfortunately, as some parts were cold. Then came a chocolate mousse that looked beautiful, very light and airy. But I think the pastry chef was a bit heavy-handed with the spice (cinnamon, I believe), and as a result, the mousse had a very unpleasant taste. So, I was really disappointed! Fortunately, the professionalism of the two waitresses made up for the rest.

While passing through Charroux, we had a wonderful culinary experience at Le Médiéval restaurant. A warm welcome, a charming setting in the heart of the village, and above all, refined, flavorful, and generous cuisine. Each dish is prepared with care and showcases local produce. A truly delightful discovery that we highly recommend!

We wanted to have afternoon tea around 4 p.m., as indicated on the blackboard at the entrance to the terrace: drinks, waffles and crepes, ice cream... We sat down and what a disappointment, the waitress told us there had been a big lunch service, so no more crepes or waffles, even though that's what we came for. It must be too difficult to erase from a blackboard what's no longer on the menu. That's a lie. I had a raspberry tiramisu, what a disappointment, taste-wise: I really like this dessert, but there was no mascarpone, a kind of whipped cream? A problem with the dessert name? Otherwise, the positive: the waitress was smiling and pleasant. Shaded or unshaded terrace available.

The only criticism is the lack of a children's menu, a tiramisu rather than a whipped cream-based creation, so not a good one. Good meal and good service.

A great place, very good products, a beautiful terrace. Quite efficiently organized. We had a very good lunch there. I recommend it.
