Le Moulin sur Albi

Our meal was a mixed bag. The restaurant is geared towards tourists, and the dishes were okay, even mediocre. We waited 45 minutes for our starters, a salad and a foie gras toast. (But up to that point, the food was fine.) The dishes were poorly reheated and far too overcooked: the duck was well past its normal cooking time (no longer pink at all), and the fish was tough and dry (as if it had been placed on a plate, forgotten, and then quickly reheated in the oven or microwave). It's a shame. The desserts were passable. Especially the one with a scoop of vanilla ice cream: it's a pity there wasn't a trace of vanilla in the ice cream (completely artificial, yellow ice cream… 😅). When we paid and were asked how it went, we politely shared our mixed experience, and it was almost as if the waitress didn't care and the question was just asked out of politeness. It's a real shame, I think there are better places to eat in Albi & that the restaurant is relying a bit too much on the few awards it received in previous years…

An authentic restaurant on a quiet and charming street in Albi, I recommend it 100%.

The food was good, a set menu with a choice of four starters, four main courses, and dessert. Wine and water weren't included. The snails were a bit dry. The duck confit was good, and the vegetables were tasty. The duck breast was a bit dry and overcooked. The tiramisu wasn't very good, very basic. The tarte tatin was delicious. The service was adequate and friendly, and the French-style place was nice, although a bit cluttered.

A lovely little restaurant, the meal was excellent overall (the only slight drawback was that the potatoes could have been cooked a little longer). The waiter was warm and very kind. We'll definitely be back! 😄
