Le Nuage dans la Tasse sur Le Havre

Le Nuage dans la Tasse is a place I frequent when I'm in Le Havre. The food is simple and very good quality, the set menus are often appealing, and the service is friendly. But perhaps it was because of the summer holidays (July 2026), but I went there two days ago and the staff (the replacements?) had changed. It was 12:30 when I arrived, alone in the dining room. Several tables for two were still free, and I asked to be seated. A young man had to ask permission from what appeared to be his boss to let me take a seat, and the man, in his fifties, as red-faced as he was pot-bellied, barely looked at me and replied with an annoyed air, "If you want..." I sat for ten seconds in the assigned seat and then left, disgusted. For me, service and attention to people are the most important things in a café or restaurant. I hope this miserable team will clear out quickly before the start of the new school year, in favor of those who are usually so nice to me!

A Le Havre institution, you can go there with your eyes closed.

Lovely food and service in a beautiful atmosphere

Remember to book if you want to eat on the terrace. A very pleasant first experience. The tarts are excellent and generous. We chose the salad of the day with a salmon and cabbage tart, a fried egg, and a side salad. It was very good. We came by bike, but there's also parking nearby. The service is efficient, it's busy, and things run smoothly. We'll gladly come back to try the rest of the menu.

This is the second time we've enjoyed a delicious meal here. Everything is homemade, simple, fresh, and served with a smile. And the pie crusts are homemade, too.

Excellent food. Just a quick note about the afternoon tea: please be a little more generous with the desserts. Serving them on a small plate would be nicer. Highly recommended!
