Le Peyragude sur Penne-D'Agenais

23/08/2026: I had already visited this establishment last year and had very fond memories of it: a magnificent setting, a lovely terrace with a view, tasteful decor, and friendly staff. I also really enjoyed the food, with just one small reservation about the dessert. I happily returned last night, but unfortunately, the experience was a bit more mixed this time. The setting is still as pleasant, and the terrace remains a real highlight, but I was more disappointed with the food. The salmon tartare was rather underwhelming, with a portion that seemed small and the flavors quite ordinary. On the other hand, the main course was a very pleasant surprise: the duck pastilla was excellent, truly delicious. However, I was very disappointed with the passion fruit entremets for dessert. The passion fruit flavor was certainly present, but the overall presentation lacked contrast and, above all, crispness. The texture was rather soft, and the dessert struck me as rather bland despite the passion fruit aroma. Finally, I also had a slight disappointment with the attitude of one of the waiters, whom I found less pleasant than during my first visit. In the end, the place remains magnificent and is definitely worth a visit for its setting and view, but the culinary experience was more disappointing this time. It's a shame, because I had such fond memories of my first visit.
