Le Port sur Les Sables-D'Olonne

Great restaurant, excellent food, and a very pleasant owner in a lovely setting overlooking the passing boats. This is our second visit and we will be back.

After reading reviews of this establishment, we had made our choice without hesitation for our New Year's Eve dinner. In fact, we learned during dinner that the owner had changed in June 2025. Keeping previous reviews is dishonest! Indeed, it was absolutely not up to the advertised standard. Despite the good intentions of the person serving (for whom this was not their profession), the menu's promise was not worth what we were served. The homemade foie gras was good, but the sea urchin and scallop soufflé with prawn sauce was a complete disaster (no flavor, the soufflé collapsed, was spongy and lukewarm). The venison was okay, but nothing special, no different from beef. The cheese course came without bread because they were out (apparently the waiter went to get more, so we had to wait 15 minutes with our plates in front of us!). The dessert was far too generous and unworthy of a New Year's Eve celebration: grapes, crushed biscuits, and mascarpone cream or butter served in a glass of water. And let's not even mention the wait due to the computer glitch and the bill of €184 for two! The only positive point was that the wait was so impressive for our neighbors, who arrived at the same time as us, that we ended up making light of it. They're probably still finishing their desserts... not to mention a few bits of shell. Sea urchins stuck in a tooth... in short, nothing was right... Happy New Year 2026. We definitely do not recommend it.

The food is well cooked with attention. The menu is original and the service is good. It is a bit pricey but a good experience overall. The room is quite cozy and well decorated in a marine atmosphere.

A fantastic place in La Chaume. The setting is very cozy and the service is top-notch. The staff are incredibly kind. The food was exquisite, and the menu made you want to order everything. A word of advice: reserve your table as this place seems to be quite popular. Thank you for this excellent Sunday meal.

Always such a pleasure to have lunch at this restaurant. The fish, especially today's octopus, was the best I've ever eaten—perfectly tender. And the sea bream was exquisite. The service and welcome were always excellent, right near the port. What more could you ask for? (The little Jesus in short pants!)
