Authenticity in the heart of Montreuil-sur-Mer: Nestled within the picturesque citadel, Le Pot du Clape is a must-visit for food lovers, highly recommended by Paula from the neighboring jewelry shop. We were immediately charmed by the restaurant's vintage decor and its "homey" atmosphere, where everything, from the bread to the main courses, is made on-site with passion. Remarkable mastery of soups: The soup menu is a true highlight, offering flavor combinations as varied as they are excellent: * A particularly successful butternut squash soup with smoked paprika. * A bold broccoli and Roquefort soup with character. * An exotic, creamy Guyanese soup with coconut milk. * A comforting traditional vegetable soup, enhanced with bacon. The cuisine doesn't stop at steaming bowls. Homemade bread is a wonderful accompaniment to generous dishes: The revisited Flemish carbonnade with pork cheek (dish of the day) is absolutely divine. The flamiche is also excellent and true to local traditions. Beyond the food, the warm welcome and historic setting make Le Pot du Clape a place where you'll want to linger. Above all, the establishment stands out for its excellent value for money, making this artisanal cuisine accessible to all food lovers. It's the ideal place to savor authentic and genuine cuisine in a timeless atmosphere. We highly recommend it and will definitely return when we're next in this picturesque town.

The welcome was as warm and friendly as the place itself. There were 10 of us. We tried everything on the menu. We all opted for the set menus. From cocktail to dessert, it was a pure delight. Photos of the soups are missing. The good news is, if you don't finish, you get to take some home. That wasn't the case for us 😅

We ate twice on the back terrace of the restaurant; it's really lovely and peaceful. We ate very well! I highly recommend it!
