Le Prieure sur Villeneuve-Les-Avignon

Almost every year of visiting this very pleasant, clean establishment with attentive service. Very spacious room where you feel at home, very quality and appreciated restaurant (except the pigeon's leg 😉)

Visited with my husband this month. It was a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely helpful, especially with booking restaurants and giving guidance on the town. If you can, have dinner at the hotel restaurant. A wonderful experience. We were also upgraded on arrival. Will be back.

Superb location, very pleasant staff and warm restaurant in a magical place, the priory. The dinner imagined by Chef Christophe Chiavola very pleasantly surprised us with totally successful combinations of fish and citrus fruits, meat and wakame. Finally, the dark chocolate, caviar and white chocolate ice cream dessert won us over. We will return in the summer!

Beautiful historic hotel located in the heart of the city

Bistronomic cuisine at lunchtime and gourmet cuisine in the evening. Fine and refined and excellent service. A quiet place in the heart of Villeneuve les Avignon..... nothing to complain about, everything is perfect.

2 repas en 3 semaines dans ce restaurant, une fois le midi (bistronomique) et une fois le soir (gastronomique). L’expérience du midi était parfaite quoique un peu cher. Celle du soir est plus mitigé. Début de repas à 2000 à 2, cuisine travaillé, service agréable et souriant, plats originaux. Jusque la tout va bien. Nous en sommes au dessert vers 2300, l’équipe en salle débarrasse les nappes et les couverts restants des tables déjà vidés tout autour de nous, ce qui donne une « légère «  impression de gêner… en plus de casser l’ambiance feutré . Le chef sort, salue l’autre table restante et n’adresse même pas un bonsoir. Personnellement je ne cours pas après cela et je peux comprendre les chefs qui ont du mal avec cet échange « imposé » , mais de la à faire une différence entre les tables il y a un pas que la politesse devrait interdire. Nouvelle impression génante. La serveuse , au demeurant parfaite sur le reste du repas , quitte alors son service en civil et passe en nous saluant gentiment . Nouvelle sensation d’être vraiment de trop. Finalement nous expédions le café pour filer sans prendre le temps de profiter de cette fin de soirée. Nous ne sommes pas les derniers, une table encore présente. Quel dommage de gâcher un repas original aux saveurs recherchés par un service proche du routier.

A beautiful hotel, if somewhat poorly decorated rooms. I agree with other reviewers that the rooms are very spacious and I was pleasantly surprised to have a terrace off my standard room, but some of the decor elements are very out of place, especially the lighting. The staff was very agreeable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect and is proximate to what I found to be the best attractions in Avignon. The construction next door did damper the tranquility of the property, unfortunately.

We should invent a 6th star for a place like this: Relais et Château hotel, Michelin-starred restaurant, these distinctions are well deserved. The Prieuré is a luxury hotel which has retained all its authenticity as a historic building. Lots of class!

We came here for dinner following an invitation for a gourmet meal. The place is very pleasant, the service was impeccable. It was a first for us and it was a very good experience.

Superior in every way. We stayed at this hotel in 2012 and decided to return to Provence this year. The hotel and its surroundings are better than ever. We had #53, the same large room as last time. It's been renovated some. Excellent bathroom and overall lighting. Very comfortable bed. View over the pool is terrific. Breakfast is the usual outstanding offerings. The location, across the river from Avignon, is perfect for exploring the countryside while avoiding traffic within the city walls. We can't imagine any place better to stay in the area. We use it as the center of a wheel and travel the spokes each day: Gorges de l'Ardeche, Les Baux, Mont Ventoux, Arles, Pont du Gard, etc.
