We spent an exceptional evening in a magnificent setting in the heart of the medieval town of Ambierle. Thank you for your welcome and the “Signature” menu which we recommend without any hesitation! Cuisine gastronomique mais un peu minimaliste. Accueil sympa, salle un peu convenue. Service de bonne facture. Carte des vins correcte, mais un peu restreinte, surtout pour des vins à prix abordable. Assiettes originales et bien dressées, mais quantité un peu faiblarde à mon goût. A vous de voir.

Une table qui ne mérite pas une étoile au guide Michelin... Le service effectué par la patronne était approximatif, bâclé, mention bien toutefois pour le jeune serveur qui a fait son travail avec application et humour. Les plats étaient bons mais pas exceptionnels tant au niveau des saveurs que de la finesse. Pour le vin, il est intéressant de goûter à la production locale mais le vin rouge n'était pas au niveau d'un restaurant étoilé, le vin blanc était correct. Les fromages, pourtant issus d'un fromager affineur réputé, étaient quelconques... En dessert nous avons eu une tarte au citron meringuée, et là encore la qualité n'était pas au rendez-vous, le sablé beaucoup trop dur était difficile à casser et peu appréciable en bouche, l'ensemble était trop sucré avec des gouttes de meringue d'une autre époque, à revoir ou à revisiter. Il aurait été également bienvenue de se voir servir en fin de repas une petite liqueur ou autre digestif. En conclusion, expérience décevante.

The menu consisted of 2 menus. The 1st menu can be available in 4 or 5 variations (fish and/or meat €85 or €95). The 2nd Valentine’s Day menu at €100. We were a couple and we were not given the choice between the 2 menus. The table had to have the same menu. My companion sacrificed himself for the same as mine. However, the other menu really appealed to him. Already, I was wondering how it works with a table of 10 people? Same for everyone? Weird... So we take the Valentine's Day menu and there... Disappointment. I was salivating waiting for the lobster and it was overcooked and rubbery. On the other hand, the sequel is very good but nothing exceptional. I tell myself that dessert will be the final bouquet of this meal and again a disappointment. A financier topped with a chocolate mousse (very good) with raspberries and vanilla whipped cream. Served with a passion macaroon and a passion soufflé (the waiter informed us of the arrival of fresh passion fruit). However, the combination of flavors was not really a success and the financier was not cooked enough and was mushy. Finally, for a restaurant with a macaron, I admit that from my point of view, it is not deserved. We have so many beautiful restaurants in Roan where the cooking is mastered and the flavors are there. Disappointment, the macaroon and the price are not justified. We will not recommend it and will not return.
