The place is beautiful, an old but very pretty building. The entire restaurant is very clean, the restrooms are modern and spotless (this is really important for my rating).
The staff are really pleasant; it's a real mood booster to be served with good humor and smiles. We'll come back just for that.
Perhaps the food could be improved; the taste is very basic. (I tried the duck confit and the pizza.)

Family meal on a Saturday evening. The waiter was very good, however, the entire organization needs improvement. It was quite slow; the poor waiter was working in difficult conditions. As for the meal itself, it was very average.

An excellent restaurant in the heart of the historic center of this superb, yet little-known, city, housed in a beautiful 18th-century building with traces of the 13th century inside. The cuisine is remarkable, including, among other things, prawns and semi-cooked foie gras as starters, and for main courses, a quality bavette steak, a noteworthy duck parmentier, and a very appealing butcher's platter. The rum baba is delicious... A truly excellent restaurant in old Saintes. In season, there's a lovely terrace on a typical old pedestrian street.

Arriving without a reservation, the restaurant was packed, but we were extremely well received. We found a table quickly, and despite the rush, they took the time for their customers. All the staff were very welcoming and extremely friendly.

As a loyal customer of Procipio for years, I was very disappointed for the first time on Thursday. Not by the food, which is always delicious, but by the welcome and service. The holiday was announced starting January 26th, but the staff had already left. This is completely unprofessional. Customers come to enjoy a relaxing, friendly atmosphere and don't want to be treated as if they are bothering them. I wish you a restful holiday and hope this doesn't happen again. Sincerely

First time here, and it was almost flawless. My wife, son, and I ate there. The charcuterie platter was generous and enough for all three of us to start. A welcome change from some restaurants! The three main courses (pizza, burger, and butcher's cut) were all good and well-portioned. However, the butcher's cut was a bit of a letdown; there was quite a bit of waste in it, which is disappointing for €21! Finally, for dessert, we had three delicious ice creams. I highly recommend this place.
