Le P'tit Resto sur Menton

A small restaurant (24 +/- 2 seats) that is only booked once at lunchtime. Closed Wednesdays and Thursdays. The atmosphere is simply honest; the neighbors are there: we were the only ones not from the area. Friendly, somewhat strict tone: we really liked it. But the BEST thing is the food – delicious, well-seasoned, and very French! The good Maigret would be a regular here. Very generous portions… by the way, you don't absolutely have to go there… but if you do, please make a reservation. And yes, the French is a bit rough around the edges. In any case, it's far removed from any tourist trappings.

Delicious food and excellent value. Amazing soupe de poisson and steak with Roquefort was so tender and the sauce delicious. Simple, unpretentious place to look at but the food is awesome and service friendly.

Small family-run restaurant in Menton. The son cooks, his father who has a background from one of Monaco’s well-known restaurants still helps out. The food was excellent. Homemade fish soup full of flavour, a beautifully cooked duck breast with honey and thyme, and a beef bourguignon that had clearly been going for hours. We finished with ice cream and crème brûlée, both great. Relaxed atmosphere, lots of regulars, and the family came over for a chat during the evening. Genuine and unpretentious. Absolutely fantastic meal with great food. Filled with locals. Please don’t be put off by the decor. It’s very cute. Great value too.

Very authentic. Food is really very delicious. I feel very cozy and warm. Highly recommended for those who really want to have delicious food and cozy authentic environment. And the lady who serve us is always smiling and saying thank you although she is alone serving all other customers. 5 stars customers service and food

Excellent! We had the €32 set menu (starter, main course, and dessert). A 50cl carafe of white wine for €9.50 was a great deal. All the dishes were delicious and the portions were perfect! The double cream dessert was divine! We arrived right when they opened and were lucky enough to get a table. I highly recommend it!

A very, very cute, old-fashioned restaurant, I loved it and the food was a dream!!

Passing through Menton after a (very) long hike, we stopped in front of “Le P’tit Resto.” The moment we stepped inside, we knew this place had a wonderfully family atmosphere. Despite a full house and the late hour, the owner went out of her way to make room for us. I personally opted for the duck marinated in thyme and honey. And when we returned three days later, I chose the same duck without even looking at the menu, which, in my opinion, is the highest compliment I could pay her. On this second visit, we were lucky enough to finally try the lemon meringue tart, which was on the daily specials menu but had been so popular on our first visit that the staff remembered we were disappointed not to have had a chance to try it, so they made one especially for our last day in town. And what a treat it was! The kind of dessert you finish anyway, even though the (aptly named) gourmet menu has already left you more than satisfied. "Just one more bite and I'll stop," you tell yourself with each spoonful, and yet, you still finish your plate. Not that it would be impolite not to; simply that you can't stop. Talking with the staff, we learn that this is truly a family-run establishment: a mother who manages the dining room single-handedly; a son who has taken over his father's mantle in the kitchen. Both are as passionate as they are dedicated to making your meal an unforgettable experience. Here, there are no overpriced dishes, just passion and expertise at a very reasonable price. Readers, please know that I'm not usually one to write reviews. But in this particular case, I feel it's necessary to make an exception. So, I invite you to ask yourselves the same question I did: Is this how kings eat? As for you both, we wish you all the best. We don't know if our travels will lead us back to this city, but we know that if we do, we won't have to bother looking for its best restaurant: we've already found it.
