Le P'tit Resto sur Bayeux

The restaurant was recommended to us by our local hosts and diner at Le P’tit Resto was indeed an excellent experience in French food. Seated outside, with a beautiful view of the cathedral, we had a very nice 3-course diner, very well prepared and presented. The dark chocolate desert was fingerlicking good.

This was our 2. visit to Bayeux, but our 1. chance to dine at Le P’tit Resto, it had always been fully booked before. Now we understand why! The service was outstanding. Our server spoke excellent English and stayed wonderfully calm even when the restaurant became very busy. She and her colleague managed everything with such warmth and skill. I’ve worked in hospitality myself, and I know how much that takes. Those two are worth their weight in gold. The food was just as impressive. The chefs deserve a star of their own! Every cent was worth it, and we would happily come back.

A very affordable set menu at lunchtime. Pleasant and friendly service. Attentive but not intrusive staff. The main thing: refined, well-proportioned, and flavorful cuisine. A special touch from the chef: a tasting of tomato gazpacho, a main course and dessert or a main course and cheese, plus a glass of wine for €17.90. What more could you ask for! A very enjoyable experience, thank you.

We booked Le P'tit Resto online as it was listed as dog friendly, which was important for us. We were warmly greeted on arrival and made to feel very welcome. Service was quite slow at the beginning — we waited around 20 minutes for menus and about 30 minutes before our order was taken and drinks arrived. That said, it really didn’t seem to be the fault of the staff. The restaurant was completely full and appeared to be looked after by just two members of staff, a young man and woman, who were both extremely friendly, accommodating and clearly doing their best on a very busy evening. The food itself was very good value for a three-course menu. We really enjoyed the foie gras starter, followed by the tuna loin and duck mains. The setting is also a big highlight, with Bayeux Cathedral providing a beautiful backdrop and making it a lovely place to spend an evening. It’s easy to see why Le P'tit Resto is a local favourite. With a little more staffing support on busy nights, it would be an even better experience. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re looking for somewhere dog friendly in Bayeux.

I had some difficulty booking this online and so went in person whilst we were staying in the area. I explained that I have a garlic intolerance and most impressively the waitress remembered this when we went back a few days later for our meal which was delicious. The sauce with the turkey was lovely. Nice atmosphere and in a good location. We really enjoyed our meal there.

Lunch alone on a rainy day, a very pleasant welcome and equally pleasant service. For starters, cabbage, apple, and sausage were perfect, followed by a marvelous confit veal and an exquisite revisited strawberry tart with a divine tuile. But I won't say any more; go and discover it for yourself in this restaurant, which is anything but small in terms of cuisine… I will be back with great anticipation! 👏👏👏

Very good restaurant in Bayeux. Busy, so make a reservation. Delicious 3-course menu where choosing is difficult: everything is tasty. Friendly, efficient service. Chardonnay highly recommended.

Definitely a place to return to! We went for dinner two nights in a row and had a wonderful meal, topped off by the kind and friendly staff. They're still really good!
