Easter weekend spent in Vezelay. We had dinner in this restaurant which met all our expectations: friendly and caring welcome, friendly and attentive waiters, very good meal with very generous portions. A picturesque note with the Corso-Marseillaise ease of the owner who brightens up the room.

Welcomed at 12:50 p.m., with a smile. Very friendly staff with no lack of humor. Atypical and very good snails, prepared (it seems) with a touch of pastis. Fine tripe, excellent veal head with a gribiche sauce to die for. The generous plate of mature regional cheeses. To accompany this lunch, a white Marsannay was a great discovery. It's worth the detour.

A personalized and warm welcome from Jack and his master Dom. Impeccable service. I enjoyed myself from the starter to the dessert accompanied by good wines.

A 50cl beer and a 25cl beer €16.50, even in Paris it's cheaper... price for tourists I suppose! Apart from that, nice place, with welcoming employees.

To put an end to the negative comments about the restaurant, we enjoyed ourselves (eggs in meurette, veal kidneys.... a delight) Warm and friendly welcome to the service, as well as to the manager and his "little Burgundian accent". I recommend this table.

06/02/2024: Timeless, this little restaurant with an outdated interior (above all, let's not change anything) is in fact a great discovery. Family cuisine, a lively bar, old tables, old frames, regulars in small groups. Here it lives. Delighted to have eaten there on a weekday in winter. I felt at home.

Hotel de la Poste et du Lion d'Or

09/01/2024: The Hôtel de la Poste is perfectly located for visiting Vezelay, thanks to Yannick's informed advice for visiting the city. Private parking, clean room but a little small. The evening meal was very careful but unfortunately served at a leisurely pace, in 1 hour all inclusive, too bad... I think we will come back.
04/01/2024: We were six couples and absolutely loved our four night stay at the Hotel de la Poste. Laurence greeted us when we arrived and warmly welcomed. Sitting outside in the late afternoons was so pleasant and the bar staff so accommodating--especially Louis. We would love to revisit and stay again.
