Le Vézelien sur Vezelay

23/08/2026: The price was reasonable for a tourist village. The food was decent, but nothing special. The pie was good, but my fish was overcooked. The beef bourguignon was good. I didn't like the pastry on the apple tart. Some of the staff are a bit odd, and there seem to be some communication issues between the chef and the waitresses. The wine was good and reasonably priced. The terrace is pleasant.

16/08/2026: I ordered a beef bourguignon, which I consider a local dish supposedly made with local meat, so it was a no-brainer. The meat was dry, there was very little of it, and the sauce was tasteless. My biggest disappointment wasn't actually the dish itself, but discovering that several people at different times were making the same complaint, and that no one seemed to be learning from it. This beef bourguignon definitely needs to be re-evaluated.
