Le Renard sur Chalons-En-Champagne

I went there for a day organized with the Miss Curvy Champagne Ardenne committee. It was fantastic! All the staff were attentive and took the time to welcome us. The venue is modern and beautiful; we felt really comfortable there. Thank you again for your hospitality!

From the reception to the bar, the staff are pleasant and helpful. They also give good advice when you're unsure of your choice. I recommend it.

The quality was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the spa wasn't too expensive considering it's private. The only slight drawback was that the room looked great, but upon closer inspection, the mattress was quite stained for a 4-star hotel. Given the price, I'm giving it 4 stars because I'm being generous, but it really deserves 3.

We loved this small hotel, situated directly on the Place de la Republique in Challons- en- Champagne. Our room overlooked the square. They upgraded us to a triple room from a double, which gave us plenty of space and lots of windows to check out what was happening outside. They told us it was their policy to do that if there was availability. The location is really fabulous. You can see lots of bars and restaurants, the boulangerie and a small supermarket all from the front of the hotel. There is a small interesting bar on the ground floor of the hotel , used by locals. It has the most magnificent refrigerated cabinets, full of bottles of champagne 🍾. There’s a mind blowing choice of a range of champagne to taste by the glass for around €8. The staff are very knowledgeable about the champagne on . You definitely know you’re in champagne country. It’s a really nice walk to some of the most magnificent sites and beautiful old town from the hotel. You can walk along by the river and see the beautiful timbered houses near the the tourist office. We were visiting in the middle of January and yet there were bars, restaurants and boulangeries open on a Sunday evening. The hotel offers cold plates in the evening and breakfast but we didn’t eat in the hotel as we were tempted by all the wonderful goodies in the boulangerie in the corner of the Square. We parked our electric car at the back of the hotel in the secure courtyard and were able to plug in for electricity overnight at a total cost of €25. There is also parking available in the Square which is paid by meter. I used the small gym off the courtyard. It was nicely laid out and although the equipment might have seen better days, it was still nice to have a little gym available. We were told you yeah, need to book the spa if you want to use it but you can walk into the gym at any time. Overall, we think this is a lovely hotel to stay in and we would use it again on our way to and from the Alps.

Lahcen is the best! Excellent service; if you're lucky enough to get Lahcen, you won't be disappointed!
