Le Saint Pèlerin sur Auxerre

Every time I visit Auxerre, it's a must-see... truly excellent. Very welcoming.

Passing through Auxerre, we wanted to discover this hidden gem of a restaurant, known for its wood-fired specialties. We met a passionate and very friendly chef, who was happy to advise his customers. A perfect dinner, from appetizer to dessert, featuring seasonal and high-quality ingredients. The grilled dishes were superb (duck breast and Angus beef skewer). We enjoyed glasses of Irancy and Mercurey red wines, with a particular fondness for the full-bodied Mercurey. We highly recommend this restaurant and will undoubtedly return on our next visit to Auxerre. A&C

A truly wonderful experience at Saint-Pelerin. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional. The cooking, both of the meat and fish dishes, was impeccable and perfectly executed. The cuisine was refined, precise, and full of flavor. Special mention must also go to the service, provided by the chef himself during our visit: attentive, pleasant, and professional, he performed flawlessly both in the kitchen and in the dining room. 👏 As for the atmosphere, we had a very enjoyable time overall. The value for money might seem a little questionable for some dishes, but the quality of the ingredients and the culinary expertise are undeniable, and overall, the experience remains very satisfying. An Auxerre restaurant that definitely deserves to be discovered. 👍

A restaurant not to be missed under any circumstances! Wood-fired cuisine, a chef-waiter on weekdays, and an exceptional setting! Our visit will remain a very fond memory of our trip along the Nivernais Canal. Our only regret is living too far away to return! (Alsace) We are grateful for this wonderful experience!

An address you absolutely mustn't miss. Wood-fired cooking, exceptional ingredients, and everything presented with finesse. ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ I personally enjoyed an andouillette sausage with Chaource sauce, the best I've ever had, by far. The garnish was a mashed potato, reworked, put back in its skin, and baked until golden brown. 🤤 The Black Angus flank steak is incredibly tender, as are the duck breast fillets, and what can I say about the tomato tartare and the chocolate fondant? These are simple dishes, but so expertly prepared that they become exceptional. If you want to treat yourself in a small, quiet, and friendly restaurant, don't miss Le Saint Pelerin! And let's not forget the Chef/Waiter/Bartender/Dishwasher... who takes care of everything himself during the week! And they do it perfectly, with a smile and good cheer. 🫡 GO TO SAINT PELERIN! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly wonderful restaurant in Auxerre! Traditional cuisine that truly showcases local produce, carefully sourced from small producers. The flank steak was incredibly tender, with a delicious, slightly buttery flavor and a subtle smoky note from cooking over a wood fire. A real treat! Special mention for the snails: among the best I've ever had! They come from a small producer and are served with a flavorful homemade sauce. The wine pairings by the glass are also very well thought out, with very reasonable prices. You can tell the owner is passionate about what he does and takes great care of his ingredients, with a warm, friendly, and unpretentious welcome. We were with our baby, and a high chair was provided, which was much appreciated. An authentic, generous, and unpretentious restaurant, the kind we wish we could find more often. We will gladly return!
