Le Schuss Hotel Mont Vallon sur Les Allues

Very friendly and warm welcome, but our room was a little dated and the lighting and sockets are not really up to standard. Another subject, the brasserie l'Authentique where we dined with again very friendly service, served us a Savoyard fondue - more expensive than anywhere else - which must undoubtedly have been a sachet fondue from the mass market because, being Savoyard, I know how to recognize a real fondue from a ready-made one; we had the opportunity to taste another one near the hotel which had nothing to do - fortunately - with that of l'Authentique. To accompany it, we took a Chignin, unfortunately an uninteresting cooperative wine but charged €41 when two restaurants in Méribel and Mottaret offered us a Chignin from André Quénard which was an aromatic marvel at a price of €27 and €31. I imagine that most foreigners don't notice anything but I find that it harms the image of MontVallon. That being said, I would not hesitate to return to the hotel which is really very pleasant and so well located. Thank you to the whole team for their welcome and see you soon I hope. We are loyal customers of Mont Vallon (17th year) and enjoy coming back every year. However, each year the price increases significantly but each year the services decrease. Elimination of room service so no breakfast in the room. Bar service is reduced: no port in particular or aperitif biscuits. There is no more "turndown" service in the late afternoon. Disappearance of the press service. The young and obviously recently trained staff are very pleasant. The butler and the chef in the kitchen are quality.

Great hotel, ski in/ski out, nice location, easily accessible to local area. Stayed bed and breakfast, excellent choice of food available, nice restaurant set up and food readily available which is freshly made and still warm. Good ski locker facilities. My only fault is the rooms - slightly lacking in cupboard space meaning living out of your suitcase, and the bathroom only has a short tap based shower attachment in the bath. You either have to sit in the bath, or squat under the shower - with no shower screen so water can spray everywhere. Only a minor gripe for what was an excellent few days stay. Would go back

The staff went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, from offering local recommendations to answering all of our questions. The ambiance of the hotel was enchanting, with its rustic yet elegant décor creating a welcoming atmosphere. Whether relaxing in the lounge area by the fireplace or enjoying a meal at the on-site restaurant, every moment felt like a retreat from the ordinary. Last but not least, the sauna provided the perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes. Overall, Hotel Mont Vallon exceeded our expectations in every aspect. For anyone seeking a perfect ski getaway, I absolutely recommend this hotel. With its impeccable room quality, unbeatable ski-in and ski-out convenience, exceptional customer service, charming ambiance, and indulgent sauna facilities, it's truly a gem in the heart of the mountains.

This is a superb hotel which is ideally located on the slopes just a few metres away from the lifts. The location is perfect. The food was really good quality and you feel like you’re in a top class restaurant. The best part of the hotel, however, is its staff. Everyone was very friendly and kind. A special mention to Marion and Max from the bar. They were excellent and made our stay even more special! Thank you!
