We went out this Saturday, it had been a long time. We arrived at Set Bar. An evening was underway, the atmosphere seemed nice. We ordered food: an aperitif, which took a very long time to be served, and a charcuterie board, which took even longer. A second aperitif, which took 40 minutes to arrive. Around 10:20 PM (we arrived at 8 PM), we flagged down a waitress because we still hadn't ordered, and the restaurant was getting crowded. The response: the cook finished at 10 PM! But we've been here for 2 hours and 20 minutes! So, we left without eating. The two waitresses were overwhelmed, and the managers were more concerned with taking photos of the evening than anything else. I do not recommend it.

The welcome was very pleasant, with smiles all around; the atmosphere with a live singer was really nice. The quality and quantity of the food were very good, and the price was quite reasonable too. In fact, it was very good and enjoyable, so we'll definitely be back! All the best ;)

The atmosphere and the food are fantastic. I recommend the chicken tenders (homemade!). Maureen is more than attentive; she's simply amazing and radiant! Even the Saint Nicholas can be fresh. What more could you ask for?

During my wanderings through the interesting city of Valenciennes, I stumbled upon this restaurant with a terrace around noon. The welcome was friendly, and the menu and set menu both looked very appealing. Having not enjoyed a brochette for some time, the garlic mashed potatoes made it a delicious meal, and I'm still glad I did, especially since I was able to relax on the sunny terrace for a while.

A quick stop, this café-restaurant boasts a lovely front terrace and a pleasant interior layout. Service is on request, with two servers sharing the duties. Parking is available on the street or in a nearby underground parking garage, both communal.

Don't hesitate to stop by! The welcome is incredibly warm! Always with a big smile! The staff are so attentive to their customers! I highly recommend this place! I've rarely seen such a lovely spot!

15/08/2026: A truly wonderful experience at the Royal Hainaut, celebrating my mother's 70th birthday on August 8th. We dined at La Galerie restaurant, the one with the long, narrow dining room adorned with numerous portraits. The setting was absolutely magnificent, perfectly reflecting the charm of this historic building. It was a truly wonderful experience. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, polite, and attentive—truly worthy of this type of establishment. We enjoyed a delicious meal, with excellent dishes and pleasant service. Having heard about my mother's birthday, he even had the thoughtful touch of placing a small candle on her dessert, without us even asking. A small gesture, but one that truly made the moment special. I also asked him if he could take some photos of us to capture the day. He kindly agreed, with a smile. In short, a superb meal, an exceptional setting, a warm welcome, and above all, a beautiful memory for my mother's birthday. Thank you to the team at La Galerie and especially to our server for these thoughtful touches which helped make this day even more special.
