Le Somail sur Saint-Pons-De-Thomieres

The €18 set menu needs to be reviewed in terms of value for money. While there are certainly overhead costs, a basic menu featuring rice, pasta, and potatoes, whether served at the buffet or as a side dish, isn't exactly expensive to buy.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant that served good meat, and bingo, this was it! The service was impeccable, nothing to complain about. It's a pleasure to see people who still love their work. The smiles, the knowledge to guide us to the right choice, and the speed were outstanding—we loved it! The ribeye with roasted Camembert was a winning combination, a beautiful piece of beef cooked to perfection! I highly recommend it. From the outside, you wouldn't think to stop, but there's a real gem here! (One small detail that bothers me a little: the menu is generated entirely by artificial intelligence... it's a shame because the establishment should retain its retro charm.)

A true institution in Saint-Pons-de-Thomières! I wholeheartedly recommend the Le Somail bar-hotel-restaurant. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic home cooking: dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients, flavorful and generous portions. A real gem, especially during the Chestnut Festival in October, a convivial event not to be missed. I also stayed several nights at the hotel: impeccable and very clean rooms, all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay. As for the bar, the atmosphere is excellent, warm, and friendly—a real pleasure every time I visit. A big thank you to Anto, the owner, and his entire team, always smiling and welcoming: Coco, Laurent, Cédric, Cetine, and Anto's mother. A special mention also goes to our friend Robert, aka (Bimbo). Le Somail is much more than just a place; it's a local institution. I highly recommend it without hesitation!

Sometimes you push open the door of a place that, as they say, doesn't look like much, and then you make a wonderful discovery! In an area overflowing with nature and far from overcrowded, our path led us to this delightful restaurant! Simple but high-quality products, a passion that shines through, and a super welcome!
