Le St-Estèphe sur Pau

Brasserie still in its original state serving rich and generous cuisine. Excellent Burgundy-style snails, delicious sweetbreads parsleyed with porcini mushrooms, scallops also very good.

In a slightly timeless atmosphere, this old bar-restaurant remains very correct. The cuisine is correct, the service simple and efficient. The shade of the large trees is a significant plus, as is the Verdun parking lot next door.

Delicious food in an atmospheric restaurant at the beautiful Place Verdun, what more can you ask for. Nice and fast service. I recommend the pasta.

C’est ma brasserie préférée sur Pau et elle me rappelle la brasserie du Berry du temps de Jacqueline. J’ai pris le Tartare frites et mon épouse la salade de chèvre .Comme dessert nous avons pris café liégeois et tarte Tatin . C’était vraiment très bon . J’y ai déjà pris la tête de veau , les rognons grillés avec des frites, les Sant-Jacques aux cèpes avec des tagliatelles et tout est très bon .

Clearly MY favorite brasserie in Pau, ordered a menu but on the advice of the owner, change with an epic tab, excellent and perfect cooking, marked on one side and forgotten on the other, a perfect gradient and a magnificent color, exceptional tenderness and fiber, the best steak I have eaten anytime...

The food is pretty good, however the welcome is very average... I have been there several times and each time there is a slight feeling of being a nuisance and of being received with the minimum level of politeness. It's a shame, so I won't go back, especially since in Pau there are other good restaurants where you are better received.

Magnificent discovery in this bistro where we enjoyed ourselves! Snails, beef fillet, and St Estephe escalope with cream, and to finish a chocolate mousse!! It was perfect ! Thank you so much ! We will come back as soon as possible!

We arrived at 8:30 p.m., the boss offered us a main course and dessert because the kitchens closed at 9 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. he encouraged us to leave the premises. Restaurant to avoid in the evening. Damage....

I do not recommend this place, charging €3.50 for a portion of fries to replace the lack of vegetables for the dish of the day, I find this not at all commercial.

A bistro just the way I like it! It reminds me of the bistro des halles in Paris! The boss is very nice and above all he demands quality especially in terms of meat and service of course we go back frequently
